Sandwich chain offers healthy alternatives for diners on the go..
In Short
Subway's health-conscious menu is built around greaseless deli sandwiches--turkey, chicken, roast beef, etc.--made on soft rolls baked daily in-house. Customers pick white, wheat or a specialty bun, name the length, choose the toppings and watch as the sandwich moves down the assembly line. Wraps, melts, salads and chips by the bag diversify the streamlined menu. And despite the bread factor, Subway boasts numerous successful weight-loss stories and low-carb menu items.
Food OK, Customer Service Awfull. Not recommended for those already having a bad day...
Don?t make it habit of slamming fast food places because I realize that no one is getting paid much and there is a high turnover rate. My expectations for this Subway location were very low but they have recently managed to not even meet those. Ironically the food is OK and the value is good but I won?t go there because the customer service makes me want to pull my hair out. The two major issues are:
1. The employees have no familiarity with Subway promotions and often get them wrong at the register. I have had to point out many pricing errors and when I do I get the dreaded blank stare. Finally they will charge you a different amount but sometimes it is still not right and you just give up to avoid wasting more time. Often their signage is misleading or does not make sense but because of the language/comprehension barrier it is pointless to debate the point.
2. The sandwich preparers speak so quickly that you can?t understand them. If you ask them to repeat themselves they will gladly say the exact unintelligible thing again. I have acted several times as a translator for other customers who do not understand the verbal pattens I have learned to recognize.
I have never seen anyone who is clearly a supervisor but how I would love to speak to one. A OK sandwich at a good price is not worth the aggravation.
