On 5/29/13 I had a hair appointment at Parlour on 6th also known as Joie De Vie Salon and Spa with Andrea De Leon @ 10am. However, upon my arrival I was told I was now going to see Ashley Knoblauch. I provided a picture of the colors I wanted in my hair to Ashley. She state it would be about a 2hr process and that it should not be a problem. She stated she had done this type of coloring before and that it was going to look awesome. I told her I had a wedding on Saturday so it was important that I look good. About an hour into the process she stated that the dye was not taking to my hair and she did not understand why. She then told me that she had been provided with a product she had never used before because the stylist in charge of ordering had failed to order the product they use. I was informed that the product currently being used on my hair was something they had just purchased from another salon/store to use on me. After 4 hours of attempting to correct my hair, Ashley proclaimed that she was finished. However upon looking at my hair I started crying and told her that what I had asked for was NOT what she had delivered. She spoke with her manager Erika who then assigned two other stylist to try and correct the mess Ashley had made. After another 5 hours the to stylist proclaimed that my hair was fixed and that it looked fabulous. I looked at my hair which was wet and told the stylist that I could not really see what the color was. They stated they did not want to dry my hair because heat would further damage it. I was not charged for the ordeal and I tipped them $40 thinking they had done a good job. Unfortunately by the time I arrived home my hair was dry and I could now see what the true results were. I started crying again called the manager Erika and sent her pictures of the final product. She apologized and ask that I return again in the morning and stated she would personally fix it. I told her no because I had no confidence in her salon or stylist. I stated to her that I would be going to Bella salon to Tiffany V. and getting it fixed there. She stated that she would reimburse me for the cost of correcting the mess they had made. The next morning I went to Bella salon and was there from 10am - 4pm getting my hair repaired. My hair had to be cut because the edges had been fried from all the processing done by Parlour at 6th, it had to be deep conditioned several times, and colored several times. I was so grateful to my stylist for correcting my hair and preparing me for the wedding I was to attend on Saturday. The cost for the repair was $325. I submitted the receipt to Parlour on 6th and they would only reimburse me $200. Erika stated that she had to convince her boss to even reimburse me that much because he felt the cost was to high. I stated to her that I needed the entire amount covered because had they not ruined my hair I would have never incurred that cost. I asked for the owners information she refused to give it to me and stated that I should send her an email with my complaint and that she would forward it to the owner. I am still awaiting a response. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will take them to small claims court if I am not given the $125 I am owed.
Owner Michael Vasquez does NOT pay his debts.
Owner is SO unprofessional.
I worked for him and he still has not paid me after 2 years. Don't loan him money OR work for him, he will rip you off to. Mike what goes around, comes around. YOU will reap what you soe.

Pleased with the Color. I typically don't color my hair but wanted a change. Dawn Hill helped my find the perfect color. Its very natural, shiny and low maintenance - I love it! I enjoyed talking with Dawn, plus they play good music too. I guess I'll have to try the spa next.
Great hairstylist.
Emily Hatfield did my cut and color two weeks ago, she did an awesome job. I am an attorney, and everyone I work with has complimented me on how professional and stylish I look.
I recommend her highly.
Joie de Vie Salon. I always have trouble finding a hair salon that has stylist that can actually give me a haircut that I like without having to pay an arm and a leg. I am also put off by the snobbery of most high end saloons. Hello! I am paying you to cut my hair. Joie de Vie has a great atmosphere and makes me feel welcome to return for a hair cut or other service. My hair stylist Amanda is awesome and great to talk to. She has been so patient in helping to make sure I get a haircut that I like. I have been happy every time I have been there in the last year!
LOVE this salon!. I went to this salon for the first time this past weekend and got a parking spot right up front! My favorite stylist, Angelia Sheets works there and she ROCKS! They had the most adorable flower hair clips there too for a great price! The staff was very friendly, got me a drink and all were real personable. I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!
Great place for haircut and color. I highly recommend hair stylist Emily Hatfield for a haircut and/or color. Finally, after 5 years of being in the Austin area, I have found a true expert and professional in the hair industry. I have long, straight, heavy hair; that I find sometimes, female stylists have a hard time handling. I'm typically open to whatever hair cutting technique the stylist wants to use, as long as they 'keep the length' ;) ...but extremely picky when choosing color ...having dark brown hair, it's easy to look like a zebra. Emily immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease with her warm, yet outgoing personality, and vast knowledge of hair color and care products. I loved that I could leave so much of the decision making up to her, and came out looking like a million bucks. I live and work in Round Rock, so when my appointment went a little past 8pm, I was surprised and delighted at how welcome the staff still made me feel; and didn't try to rush me out. And finally, the amount of compliments I had on my hair the next day, is enough to know I can and will recommend her and this salon to anyone. Thanks Emily...and I'll see you soon! :)
Fun Spa Great Massage!. I decided to try this spa on 6th after a friends recommendation. I got an hour massage from Ryan and it was the best massage I have ever had! If you need a relaxing massage from someone who knows what they are doing check this place out.
