What People Are Saying About Koriente Restaurant

In Short – From the colorful flowers and plants sprouting up all around the building, to the emphasis on healthy, fresh ingredients and dishes lacking oil, fat, sugar, MSG (infused instead with fruits and juices), this Asian restaurant is deliberate in its preparation and quick in its execution. The Kalbi pot-roast takes 24 hours to cook, but the speedy counter service makes this spot an appealing alternative to typical fast food, especially for the lunch crowd.

Nice little place
by Austinitekiwi423 at Citysearch
Been to Koriente once with a friend from Houston who wanted to go to a good local Austin place. I am a pastry chef and He is a chef. I Hadnt been there before but saw good reviews. Food was good small little quaint place got a choice of soup or green tea ice cream with meal. decently priced small little menu but I heard they switch it up a little, like they will add something new every now and then I guess to keep the locals and regulars intereseted. I would recomend this place.

I fell upon this online looking for a Korean Restaurant and immediately became interested. I looked up the website and liked the way they represented themselves and went one night for dinner. By the way, this isn't traditional Korean food, it is sort of a hybrid. Hence, the non-traditional name! I really like Korean food (I think it's the DNA, lol) and this was the only one that I had the courage to go to here in Austin. I know good Korean food and my husbands mom is one mean cook, so really something like this can't compare. However, this is a pretty clean establishment and food seemed easy and fast! Korean food traditionally is not easy or fast. There are always a million (exaggeration) side dishes and service is usually poor considering Asians are not known for it here in America, lol! My family and I enjoyed the place and owner and will most likely eat there again!
- Pros: Fresh & fast spinoff of Korean food!
- Cons: It does seem to lack a bit of comfort.
Bad food, small, crowded, loud
by frodotbaggins at Citysearch
I'm all for local businesses to sprout up in bad neighborhoods - like across from the homeless shelter like this one is - but I have no patience for poor tasting food. If I am paying money, I want to be able to finish my meal. I left most of my dish where it was. I'm an expert on sushi, bulgogi, etc, and this is NOT what you are looking for.
The decor was bland, the furniture cheap, and most aggravatingly - the place is tiny. They make this very hard on their customers! It's tough to get from the counter to your seat, because they tried to fit too many tables in the place.
Overall my experience here plain sucked, and I won't recommend it to anybody. I signed up to this place JUST to give it a bad rating. Heed my warning, fair lunch-goers!
- Pros: It's downtown (by a homeless shelter)
- Cons: bad food, too small, crowded, loud

A great selection of teas are availble as well. Its a MUST TRY sort of restaurant, so deffinetly check it out!!!!
- Pros: The scenery is beautiful, and the food is GREAT!!!
- Cons: It should be open a little bit later!
