Austin's beloved New York style-pizza joint, reining proudly from its small stands on SoCo. Their chewy crust is topped with some of the most insane ingredients, like eggplant, chopped clams, and possibly narcotics. Walk right up to the window and order a big ol' slice from their daily selection.

Excellent NY style pizza by the slice. You'll wait at the sitdown restaurant, so go to More Home Slice next door for a much quicker meal.

King of Pizza. Crispy, hand-tossed dough and savory toppings please Chicago/NY/Austinites across the board. The ricotta cheese pizza is my favorite Texas memory.

GREAT pizza, wonderful server, cool atmosphere!.
Went for the first time even thought I've lived in Austin almost all my life. I can't believe I never actually ate here - I've been missing out big time!
The pizzas are so fresh - perfect amount of melt in your mouth/crisp yet chewy crust in between thin and thick!
Plus, our server was helpful, knowledgable and all around a cool chick!

Seriously. This is the closest to legit New York Pizza you can get down here in Texas!!
If you like thin crispy cust, authentic tomato sauce, and oozing mozzerella cheese then you can't miss out on this fabulous pizza joint!
Ambiance and service are always great. Sometimes theres a wait, but if you're in a hurry head next door to their to-go building and grab a slice or a whole pizza!

Excellent Pizza but limited space and parking. My wife and I just had lunch at Home Slice on Congress and it was excellent. We had heard good things about this pizzeria and we were pleasantly surprised to find out they were justified. We ordered the #6 pizza which is on the Tried and True menu; it consisted of sausage, ricotta cheese and roasted red pepper. It was some of the best pizza in town. We also ordered salads, she getting the Pear Gorgonzola (mixed greens w/walnuts and Dijon vinaigrette) and me the Italian Chef (house salad w/antipasto topping). They even came in half sized servings so we were not too filled up. The only down side being that you have to arrive early because it gets packed and park can be atrocious on Congress, but it is well worth it.

Homeslice Pizza. A lovely African American lady was totally ignored while the white patrons were taken care of & waited on appropriately. Austin doesn't have room for this sort of attitude & behavior. For shame.

Those who want to view the pizza-making first-hand sit at the crimson-hued counter, amidst the attractive, young, hip servers that bustle as if they're hosting a dinner party at their home. The tasty hand-thrown pies come in several varieties, from the traditional margherita to the outrageous white clam pie. Order by-the-slice, especially if you're on-the-go, or for the full experience, order a full pie and enjoy it on-site. Customize your own pizza from a long list of traditional (artichoke hearts, mushrooms, pepperoni) and more edgy (fried clams, fried eggplant, Kalamata olives) toppings. Family style salads come in a large bowl and are plenty for four. Made-to-order subs, salads and calzones also grace the menu. The atmosphere is dark enough for a date, yet casual enough for families. Something to consider: for some reason, the takeout pizza slices from the front service window don't stack up to the quality of the dine-in pies, so take note.

Best in Texas. Moved down from NYC in 05 and after months of complaining about horrible pizza, my buddy took me here to shut me up. I made it a point to visit once a week until I moved to SA, but always find time while I'm in town. Don't even acknowledge the bad reviews, those people were expecting CC's and got the real deal, they just weren't ready for it !

Best pizza in Austin.
Home Slice is the closest thing to authentic NY Pizza in Austin. So much so that the owners are taking the entire staff to NY for 3 days to "drink in" the NY Pizza experience.
Overall, fantastic pizza, very high quality.
