Editorial Review for Wahoo's Fish Taco – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The nearest Wahoo's may be miles from the ocean, but this chain creates a beachy atmosphere with cabana-esque decor and a Hawaii surf-themed menu that serves a fresh, light and tasty fusion of Latino, Asian and Cajun fare. Bowls, burritos and combos come filled with your choice of meat, blackened or teriyaki style. Side dishes include Ahi rice, Cajun beans and Baja rolls--flour tortillas spread with cream cheese, leaf spinach, chopped chicken and salsa.

Ok, I was brought here by a co worker since we work near downtown and wanted something fast and yummy. This place was awsome!! Super relaxed, but very fast and professional. I love the decor and the fact that you can eat inside or on the patio on a nice day (who the hell doesn't like patio dining in Austin?) My coworker INSISTED I order the fish tacos with rice and black beans with a side of the most AMAZING green creamy sauce ever made!!! I was in love at first bite!! The rice is to DIE for especially with the green sauce mixed in!! There are friendly people all over this restaurant, and I have been MANY times since, and it's never lacked in anything! I bring my kids and husband here anytime we're close to it, and the whole family has a great dining experience. If you're looking for a place to 'unwind' for lunch..this is THE PLACE!! I hear they have great shows/ live music at night too. Anyone who doesn't enjoy this place should probably stick to the stuffy 'reservation' style eateries. I *HEART* Wahoos!!!!
Pros: YUMMY food, cool staff!
Cons: parking can be tough on weekdays

I live in Los Angeles so I know Wahoos from being in Ca. I am moving to Austin next year (back to my old home) and am soooo glad Wahoos opened up a store there! THey have excellent Mexican food dishes- many healthy choices. I love their Blackened fish and Teriyaki beef and chicken bowls. I can't wait to eat there when I move to Austin. I really recommend this place to eat at! Thanks Wahoos for expanding to Texas, now I hope Pinkberrys and Trader Joes come to Austin next!
