Best Chinese in Austin!. Best by far! Fast delivery and nice people, but mostly giving 5 stars for the food itself. Recommended!!
Best Chinese in Austin (that delivers).
Best Chinese I've had in Austin.... Chinese food in general is more expensive here (in TX) for some reason. Consistent quality and service. We order from here a couple times a month.
The only thing I would change besides lowering prices, is investing in a computer system.
Major Disappointment. I expected a good find based on the reviews I had read, boy was I surprised. The restaurant was empty during lunch, and it looked a little outdated. Food was below average, you can find this quality at any chinese spot. There was absoluting nothing even remotely unique about the food, service, or venue. Very disappointed, I don't see how it received such high marks.
fresh ingredients and the best customer service!!. This was a pleasant surprise. I stopped by for lunch and the prices are great. The ingredients in my chicken with basil were very tasty and fresh. The eggroll was very flavorful and eggdrop soup also very tasty. I can't wait to go back and try one of the many soups. I also love the extensive menu along with the fact they deliver!
Great Food -Service - Neighborhood Restaurant.
A menu for NG House was left on my door 2/27/07. After some research on Austin Chronicle's web site, I decided to try the restaurant this evening and was very pleasantly surprised. Very clean and quiet with exceptional service. The waiter realized after he brought the appetizer, soup, crab rangoon and eggroll (all included with the combination dinner for $8.50!) that he had forgotten my original choice of a shrimp eggroll and brought the correct eggroll with my dinner.
The entree of Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce was fresh and the meat very tender. My only suggestion is the hot and sour soup needs a bit more sour and a bit more hot (vinegar and white pepper I believe).
Asian food of any kind is a passion of mine and I highly recommend this restaurant as a fine, casual dining establishment - perfect South Austin neigborhood restaurant.
Best Chinese In South Austin. We just ate their tonight. We had the boneless duck and the beef with Chinese broccoli. Absolutely perfect! The owner is the chef and takes great care in preparation. The wait staff is great too - Very nice! I have travelled all over Asia. NG House is the most authentic Chinese restaurant in the area.
NG House - Yummy for the Tummy.
NG House is hands down the best Chinese food in town! I was very surprised to read the last review and learn that someone had a bad experience with the food.
It is true, NG House does have a very unique style of Chinese food, and if you want the run-of-the-mill, MSG laden, thick sauce style Chinese food, do not go there.
Their style of cooking involves sparce sauce, with lots of fresh veggies, and delicate, tender morsels of meat. I believe it lends to a more discerning pallet because there are subtleties that might not appeal to someone who is used to the Buffet Palace style of Chinese cuisine.
This restaurant is the real deal if you want a delicious, more authentic dining experience.
The service is always pleasant and timely. However, if you are looking for "fast food", I would go to Micky D's instead.
Worst Chinese Food Ever.
We went to the NG House based on the reviews from the website. It was the absolute worst food I have ever had...and I have been all over the world and eaten some pretty bad food.
I had what was supposed to be"chicken" , but it was the texture of jelly. I thought it was just a fatty piece of chicken at first, but the whole entree was the same. We had about 7 items from the menu and not one was good. The meat was all a strange texture and taste, and sparse.
The service, although nice, was very slow. We were the only people in the restaurant and it took our food an hour.
I have never written a bad review, but I felt I had to, as I would not want anyone else to waste his or her time or money like we did. Stay away from the NG House.
Editorial Review. West Gate Chinese restaurant offering traditional dishes such as Mongolian beef and sesame chicken, and specialties like braised pork chops.
Good Food & Great Service. The staff is awesome. They are very friendly and helpful. We had a bunch of questions about the entrees, and they didn't make us feel as if we were bothering them. The Tom Yum seafood soup was delicious, but a little short on seafood. Our entrees were excellent- fresh and prepared perfectly (especially the vegetables). The service was always prompt, the food hot and good, and their selection is pretty extensive!
