Editorial Review for Beauty Bar – by Tara Hall
In Short
Discreetly placed in the Red River district, the Beauty Bar isn't what some initially expect. Other than a couple hip manicurists, this borderline dive bar skips salon services, instead offering hipper-than-thou patrons a place to drink in style. Glittery walls in Neapolitan ice cream stripes and '60s-inspired beauty shop accents like old-school dryer chairs radiate a chic, casual vibe. Coif-inspired cocktails, like the Prell and French Flip--tequila, Triple Sec and pineapple juice-abound.

this must have been warehouse district type that requests madonna, shakira and the like. the night this CLUELESS WOMAN speaks of is dj mel's SWOLL party. this party focuses on miami bass, baltimore club. house, club and anything fast. what i heard that night was something totally different from anything else downtown. where are you going to hear rod lee to bonde do role to daft punk to 2 live crew to miss kitten to adonis to peter, bjorn & john to some 80's era synth funk? it obvious the MELISA ALDANA IS CLUELESS ABOUT MUSIC. there's finally a bar that caters to the more forward thinking club goer. WANT TO MAKE REQUESTS ALL NIGHT? go to the warehouse district. that's where you obviously belong. PROPS TO THE BEAUTY BAR!!!
Pros: the best dj's and music in town.
Cons: none!

Whenever I go downtown I somehow always end up at this bar. The music is just as good to listen to as it is to dance to, a good mix of hip hop, indie and 80s. If you dont have the typical 9-5 job to be at on thursday morning, wednesday nights at Beauty bar hosts dj brian tweedy who plays mostly motown hits. My only complaint is sometimes the bartenders are very slow possibly due to how crowded it gets. I think many of them were not bartenders before working at beauty bar. My only suggestion is to look for the brunette guy with a beard (jeremy i think?) or the cute reddish blonde short curly haired girl. They almost always get my drinks pretty fast and are very nice.
Pros: the good bartenders, dancing, patio
Cons: the bad bartenders, can be overcrowded at times
