Would not recommend Blue Ribbon Moving
by mb922
I chose Blue Ribbon Moving because their quoted price was lower than the other three movers I received estimates from. The actual price turned out to be much higher, despite the fact that the owner had come to my house, looked over all my possessions, knew exactly what was going to be moved, and based the estimate on this in-person assessment. In addition, while I had been told I could pay with either check or VISA, after all my furniture and boxes had been loaded into their truck, I was told I had to pay CASH. This is simply unethical! I had to drive to the bank and take out over $800 in cash to pay them before they would unload my belongings! Two of my boxes were crushed in the process because they stacked very heavy book boxes on top of much lighter-weight boxes. An expensive hand-made ceramic teapot was broken because of their carelessness. I will NEVER recommend Blue Ribbon Moving to anyone.
- Pros: Owner seemed friendly
- Cons: All around poor service
No problems for me!

I found Blue Ribbon in Citysearch and my move went off without a hitch. They arrived on time, packed up my old place and then headed over to my new place with everything in tow. I had all of the boxes neatly stached near the door but they did disassemble my BIG/HEAVY wrought iron king sized bed, as well as my childrens beds (both queen-sized). I didn't move anything heavy but in order to save every penny possible I tried to have everything done that I could manage on my own. Nothing was broken, damaged, and everything was accounted for. Upon asking they even hooked up my washer & dryer for me. they asked how I wanted the furnature placed in the new bedrooms and took care of everything for me. I'd never used movers before and after this experience I'll never move again without them! My only negative is that the price I was quoted was way off from what I paid...I thought the price sounded REALLY good--it took a while to unassemble items, pack, unpack, and reassemble. I don't think the person who told me based on the list I had provided realized just HOW long it would take so his numbers were off...
- Pros: On time, friendly, efficient, professional
- Cons: Initial proce quote was off
Worthless

These guys can not move!!!
We moved to a 2 story house and they left most of heavy boxes to us at the main floor because they were unable to use trolley to move those heavy boxes. They are very slow and charge a lot. We have to assemble our furniture and bed set by ourself. We even lost some items during this moving. I paid almost $400 for one 25" TV, one queen size bed, one sofa, one coffee table, 20 heavy boxes with books inside and etc. I mean we moved from a two bedroom apartment to a house. We don't have many heavy stuff, such as washer/dryer, piano, patio set, refrigerator and etc.. They complained of tiredness after one hour moving.
I wish I could use the other moving company that I used last year. I paid $275 and they are very professional and fast. They even assemble our furniture. I wish I could use them, not blue ribbon.
Definitely, i won't recommend this moving company to anyone.
