DJs play a mix of rock and pop and some patrons often dance along, despite the absence of an official dance floor. it was really boring and cold.. Plus they keep charging my card and i havent even been back there in a few days. They have charged my card $80 over the last 3 days! If you do go there, use cash!! That place is bad though..

hahaha... funny how the person who wrote the poor review involving harrassment posted another bad review for betsy's bar. they're owned by the same people genius. if you couldn't get into betsy's there's no way in hell you'd be allowed into hi-lo. personally i love this place! you don't have to worry about what drunk frat boy or sorority chick is going to get sick all over your nice shoes on your night out on the town. the information posted on here is clearly dated though. EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT there is an OPEN MIC from 8pm-10pm and then a singer songwriter showcase presented by VIOLENT SHRIMP PRODUCTIONS called IN THE ROUNDS from 10:30pm-1:30am. each hour, 2 artists take turns playing songs on the stage with the windows open out onto the street so that people walking can stop briefly and enjoy some real live austin original music. definitely come and check it out! and if you want to play in the showcase sometime, come out to the open mic one week first and just talk to the people running the show (usually back by the soundboard and playing pool =D). all are super nice and it is well worth checking out!

Worst BAR EVER!!!!! Will never return. Bar guy tried to sexually harass me. I might file a suit!!!! Betsy's is ALSO TERRIBLE!!!! Don't go to this bar. EVER!!!!

Although hip hop was popular at Oslo, which formerly occupied the space, you won't find any on the DJ's playlist.

Hi-Lo and Betsy's Bar are actually two-bars-in-one. Slip through the door in the back to visit the distinctly different Betsy's.
