Not impressed with the changes at the Daily Grind. We've been a loyal customer of the Daily Grind for almost 2 years when Julie & John were owners of this cozy neighborhood coffee shop. The coffees were great tasting, the panini's were still cheap and yummy for a fraction of $6.95, and the sitting areas were filled with warm smiles and happy gatherings. Then one day when we returned to the Daily Grind for our usual luncheon, we discovered Julie & John sold the coffee shop but the new owners kept the same menu. Except now, the place isn't so cozy or friendly. The service is quite disappointing and the new prices for panini's are as high as $8.95. The sandwiches were dried, mainly consisted of bread with barely any fillings and if you're lucky, the shop will have chips to go with your sandwich. Don't expect the cashier to tell you either. We are disappointed with the new changes and won't be returning any time soon.…

Cozy and Welcoming Place. My first visit to The Daily Grind left me leaving with a smile. Marie and John were extremeling welcoming to their customers. They had EVERYTHING there! From breakfast tacos, coffee, ice-cream, pastries, cozy sofas and panini & salads. The first item on the Lunch Menu caught my eye: Tuna & Artichoke Panini, with olive pesto. What a great combination! It came with a side of chips and fruits. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. The BEST tuna sandwhich I have EVER had. Unlike most sandwhich places, John made an unbelievable tuna sandwhich at the Daily Grind that wasn't runny, salty and boring. The panini was layered with a delicous olive pesto and tasteful artichokes and loaded with generous amount of chunks of tuna (not the runny, soggy and salty tuna you find at Subways/Thunderclouds). I am definitely returning to this wonderful, cozy and friendly place.…
Gourmet coffees, panini and breakfast tacos for the north Austin suburbanite on the go..
In Short
This small independent café has the expected coffees (espressos, latte, macchiatos) and teas (organic and hand-blended in the great state of Texas) commuters require to start
the day. There are also a variety of breakfast tacos, paninis and desserts, from pastries to gelato. Work-from-home types can soak up the free Wi-Fi and warm, homey vibe of the bright interior's comfy, worn couches or the few café tables and chairs outside.…
