Worst in Cedar Park / Austin.
I have had the same poor experience here and after trying several gyms, got my memebrship at F19 because it was low cost and close to home. However, after signing up for training and then having my trainer let go shortly thereafter I was treated absolutely horribly!! The place is run very poorly and you have to fight for even the most common courtesy. When I fought for my refund for personal training they made a big stink about the trainers they let go being devious, however I know them personally and would follow them anywhere long before I'd trust Fitness 19's ridiculous and juvenile management. Good trainers' and people's integrity and results speak for themselves! I was going to keep my membership and find personal training elsewhere, but the way management treated me I am instead getting an anytime fitness membership and a separate personal trainer.
Hopefully I save some of you the trouble - don't be lured in by the cheap membership, Fitness 19 will sorely dissappoint you. Go somewhere else!!
Mediocre facility, poor service, TERRIBLE Management.
The gym was very well run with previous management, but new leadership is lacking. The good trainers have left or been let go, gym is filthy, and no longer has the great neighborhood and family friendly environment.
I am cancelling my membership as I have grown tired of hearing the new management bad mouth the old management, bad mouth fired trainers, and even memebers, all of whom I have known personally in my 1.5 years as a member. The previous managers and employees have character, but under its new managers the gym is severely lacking. Go to Golds or a smaller private facility!!! The cheap memebership not worth other drawbacks!!
A gym that offers a great place to workout, with all the equipment you need for a SMALL price!!. This gym offers everything equipment wise that the bigger gyms offer. If you are familiar with machines, then you'll know everything they have. LifeFitness, Hammer Strength, Precore, etc. If you aren't familiar with equipment, the staff is friendly and will answer any questions. I got a free workout after I enrolled, that helped anwer all my questions and even got set up for a small personal training package, for a small amount (again in comparison, to the bigger, pricier gyms). Definitely worth the price!! I only pay $10.00 a month, and now a days even getting one meal at quiznos cost me just as much. They have a few different locations, and all are pretty convienent. Their hours work well too! I would strongly recommend!!
Incompetant staff, poorly-maintained equipment.
Yes, it?s cheap and there?s no contract. If that?s all you care about, this gym is for you.
3 years ago my husband?s head was split open from a weight machine that malfunctioned. 36 stitches later we canceled our membership.?that took 2 months before they stopped charging our account. Now, THREE years later (this month 1/15/09) a monthly membership charge of $19.99 hits our account. ?Hmmm?? I wondered to myself. Obviously a mistake, no big deal. The phone number listed for them on my bank account had been disconnected so I had to do a little research to find the correct number. An unemotional male answered the phone in his ?I really don?t want to be here? tone of voice. I explained my situation and he assured me someone would call me right back.
By the third message I was getting a little ticked off. I?d been calling now for over a week. This morning I decided to try one last time. Monotone male answers again and this time I explain to him that if I don?t speak to the lady that does this billing I?m simply going to report this as a fraudulent charge and be done with it. Miraculously she was available. At the sound of her voice I pictured a ditzy blonde twirling her hair and snapping her gum. I explained my situation and her answer?listen to this now??Our server crashed so we had to use our backup database and I guess we hadn?t backed up in a while.? Obviously!! She THEN asked me to produce a copy of my cancelation agreement?from THREE years ago. I told her that I would produce to a lawyer copies of our bank statements from the past three years showing we had NOT been charged until Jan. 15th of 2009 and if she could then produce a membership agreement that we signed allowing them to take money from our bank account then I would accept the charge. She paused and asked, ?Do you want the money put back into the account ending in XXXX??
Incompetence, poorly-maintained equipment, gum-chewing bubble heads?Lifetime Fitness is worth the extra money. Trust me!
Great place to workout, Great Price, no contract. I workout at this location as well as the Avery Ranch Fitness 19, both are perfect for what they are. The staff is helpful, but leaves you alone to do your own thing. The gym has all the freeweights, weight machines and cardio machines you could need to get a complete workout. Their hours are reasonable and they offer childcare during certain peak hours. I have never seen it too crowded, and the best part of all is that it isn't the kind of place that you feel like you have to take a shower and try to look good before you go workout.
Great local gym. Can't beat this place for the price. No yearly contracts.. very cool... and its small enough to not be intimidated and yet it has all the machines I need to get a good workout.
