30.446619 -97.652430Horriable services and rude people. They have 2 employees that have set out on their own to start their own business up after quantum shut down quickly. Shawn McCown and Carl Schutz are trying to start their business up using all the same stuff and contracts but in a different name. My experience with any business having to do this they are doing something wrong. Don't do business with these guys they are rude and will cost you a lot of money. I found Carl going through my personal belongings and putting stuff in his work bag (Gross if you have seen this guy) while having him there to install some equipment. Warning to all females don't be alone with him if he comes out to your house he is really weird.
Good Deal & Great Service. I bought a new house, and this company significantly lowered their costs to compete with other bids I received. Everyone has been very nice, and I didn't mind a 3 yr contract since I'll need an alarm for 3 yrs. They even have key chain remotes to turn on and off the system (just like ADT has) ... really cool!
HORRIBLE Customer Service.
I was required to sign a two year contract with Quantum, I'm still waiting to hear what I can do to cancel my contract.
I have had to fight them several times over payment. . .they are supposed to debit my checking account every month for $29.84. Two or three times they say my card has been declined for lack of funds. I know for a fact that the money was in the account, they debit on the 3rd of every month. I get paid on the 3rd of every month! Now they are trying to take out two payments. . .the girl I talked to in the billing department, wouldn't even talk to me. She put me in someone's voicemail and didn't even tell me she was doing so. I'm going to the BBB right now to report them, I'm also going to make sure I find a new alarm company ASAP.
Unethical and take advantage of members of the military!.
Quantum Alarm (also “Security Dealer Funding Corp” according to the Credit Bureau), with addresses in Killeen, Pflugerville, Southlake.. are shady and unethical! They will take advantage of military like no other company I have ever seen before! We signed a 3 year contract, sold the house after 2, notified them, paid the 3rd year to finish out our contract and they automatically renewed our contract for a 4th year. Their excuse was that I “didn’t notify them in writing”.ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I called several times during the 2nd year, when our house was being rented out and the alarm system wasn’t being used.. but which I was STILL PAYING FOR!
I said that I didn’t remember if I did or not.. guess that’s my mistake for not questioning an alarm company that has been in business for a long time and in Texas on top of that, that supposedly valued their customers. They made me an offer to pay $19.95 instead of $34.95, but continued to take $34.95 for a few months. Then the charges stopped.. I figured they were giving us a break, or maybe they realized that they were charging me too much, since they had charged me $34.95 for several months instead of $19.95.. Stupid me again for “thinking”... Come to find out 3 years later they reported our account to a collections agency for $185! I didn't receive an account statement for MONTHS before the 4th year started..wonder why? Maybe because I probably would have questioned them much sooner?
Today I am told that they can’t access our information anymore because “it’s been so long” and that I would now have to pay collections fees as well. I said “No, I’m not! You can argue that with the Better Business Bureau.. which I just reported them to today. Their current grade with the BBB is a D -! That should tell us all something.. when I looked at them a few years ago, I am sure they were still a B or a B+..
Please, anyone else that has done business with this shady and unethical business report them to the BBB! Stop taking advantage of military members and do business the right way! Military people don't usually stay in one place for more than 2 or 3 years, so a contract that is 3 years long is already crazy, but then to auto-renew it after 3 years and expect people to remember that, is absolut insanity!
and stop posting fake reviews on these sites.. The use of the same wording just kinda gives it away.. Fake and shady and unethical..
Contracts matter, customers don't. The required three-year contract -- which was NOT made abundantly clear to me at the time of signing up - is very customer-unfriendly. A year and a half ago when I moved into my new home, I had a shared income, and $27/month was worth it for the peace of mind I got from having an alarm. Since then, my bills have gone up, I'm supporting the home on a single income, my ex-husband has lost his job, my child support has been cut off, food and gas costs have raised, and more. I can no longer afford many of the things I have, and have cancelled my phone service as well as much of my cable, and I am having to refinance my home to stay in it. Quantum, however, refuses to let me out of the contract. I explained to them that having an alarm won't mean jack if I can't afford the house it's in, and they simply could care less. The only response was a repeated, "I can send you a copy of your contract," as if somehow that makes everything fine. In today's economy, you can really tell which companies care in the slightest about people, and Quantum absolutely, positively does not. Be careful signing that contract, because once you do, it's more important to them than you are. IN ADDITION - she also explained to me that if you don't cancel in writing more than 30 days before your contract ends, they will sign you up AUTOMATICALLY for another UNBREAKABLE 12-month contract. I am honestly disgusted at the complete lack of caring that this company shows, and I hope that the failing economy hits them as hard as it's hitting their customers, and that their creditors are as sympathetic as they are.
Thieves.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! My husband and I made the mistake of signing a contract with them in 2005. First of all, their initial term is 3 years and secondly all rollover terms are 12 months non-negotiable. My husband and I had to move out due to deployment shortly after one of these "rollover" terms began. THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF THEIR CONTRACT. They will not let the tenants take it over and they will not allow you to cancel without paying out the remainder. We did not even have telephone service to the home, so how could they monitor anything?
Anyways, the resolution process was long and painful and ended with us paying $300 for service we did not get. They were difficult to deal with and we had to fight to get proof of cancellation. I've never dealt with any other alarm companies, but I have a hard time believing that they could get worse than this.
I filed a formal third-party complaint to which their response was late and unacceptable. We continue to try to resolve it through those means to no avail. You are better off getting a dog than tying yourself to Quantum Alarms for any length of time.
Poor service all around. Quantum Alarm has a sales department and installation team that are not very knowledgeable. The service is poor, and their business practices are unethical.
Poor Service. Unbelievably unprofessional company. The service was so unreliable that I had to find another company to protect my family.
Rude Billing Dept. Never returns calls. Always gives you the run around. Would not recommend. They have the worst Billing Department I've ever delt with. The customer is NEVER right at Quantum Alarm.
