Great food but service and seating needs improvement...

by tamigirl30 at Citysearch

Love the food - you can't go wrong with anything on the menu - we dine here every day - service is somewhat chaotic...too many people behind counter while unsure about who is doing what...winter is here and there is no comfortable outdoor seating and only 4 inside tables...I will keep going back cuz it is the best food in Dripping Springs.

  • Pros: food
  • Cons: service, too little seating

Best food in town

Thyme and dough is a quaint hole in the wall in Dripping Springs. The food is amazing with a delicious apple mixed berry turnove, egg salad sandwich, and apple rhubarb tart. They recently put in a new deck which is a wonderful new addition. They also have great espresso but allow some time if you want some because they only have one machine. I would suggest this place to anyone.

  • Pros: food, service, and seating
  • Cons: outdoor restroom

Bring on the heat - Chipotle & smoke flavors...French cooking with a Hill Country flare (pun intended) :)

Their version of scrambled eggs on a croissant or a meat loaf sandwich to die for. Seating is a problem, so stay away so I can get one! If you are a local, once you've tried this place, it will quickly become your favorite hangout. Also breads (seven grain..yum), muffins, cookies and pastries to go. If you can't tell, I love this place. They catered an event for me, hosting my favorite blue collar workmen...manly man food all the way, impressed the heck out of me. Fortunately no fist fights broke out over the chocolate cake.

Best Food in Dripping Springs!!!

by jnq at Citysearch

Rolling in Thyme and Dough is a delightful, small, warm, cozy restaurant with delicious food, baked goods, breakfasts, and organic vegetables. Everything is "melt in your mouth good"! I love the mango chicken salad sandwiches on 7-grain bread grilled. I love their organic coffee, cookies, cinnamon rolls, nutella filled pastries, raspberry iced tea with berries, 290 vegetable torte, and scrambled eggs with pesto and cheese on a croissant. The atmosphere is relaxed, and inviting. The owners, Marsha and Fabienne are delightful and gracious to all. This is truly my favorite place to eat! The service is counter service so allow plenty of time to enjoy the art, atmosphere and garden. It is well worth the wait once the food arrives!

  • Pros: Melt in your mouth food - absolutely delicious! Warm, cozy atmosphere.
  • Cons: Counter service - so allow plenty of time. Restroom outside.
