New location is better!. My family enjoys the Chicken Fried Chicken and the portions are large enough for leftovers for the next day. The kid-friendly service is great and the new location makes parking so much easier than the old location.

Great Local Restaurant!. My family loves eating at O'Leander. Their food is freshly made, from scratch. Their mushroom soup is wonderful, as well as any of their pasta dishes. They always have a ton of desserts- and we always have to try one! I love their peach cobbler and their fruit cream pies are great, too.

My kids like the fact that they have toys to play with, and coloring books. Each time we've gone, the owner has talked to us personally, she's very friendly. Great local place to go with the family.

Good home cooked food. Nothing from a can here! This is real home cooked, from scratch food. I'm not an Alfredo person, but this was from scratch and really good. If you care about calories this ISN'T the place, portions are huge and they use LOTS of butter... REAL BUTTER. I dunno what the other user is talking about. Perhaps they have changed, but it was real butter... just a lot of it... but it is good... mmm ... good. The crab stuffed mushrooms were OUT OF THIS WORLD. My husband and I BOTH loved them. I've had crab stuffed mushrooms at many, many, many, MANY restaurants, and 99% of them have been disappointing.... these fall into the 1% that makes it worth going back and getting them again. The chicken parmesan was really good and the chicken marsala was pretty good, too. The portions are INSANELY HUGE! Don't worry about getting your monies worth here, you will get every penny and then plenty more. I consider the kids portions to be normal adult portions! We will be going back.

Great food!. Loved the place, seated us even though there were only 30 minutes left until close. Wonderful service, pleasant people, good food. Although, the chicken fried steak gravy tastes like it is made from sweet cream. Otherwise a great place! Family friendly too!!

Great food, well prepared, in an informal atmosphere.. I am not a restaurant fan; I've had too many disappointing experiences in "highly recommended" Austin area restaurants in the past few years. However, on Valentine's Day, 2008, my wife and I ventured forth once again, prepared to be disappointed. We chose O'leander for several reasons: (1) as far as we knew, it had not been reviewed and "highly recommended" by the Statesman; (2) it was easy to get to; (3) it had a good reputation amongst my wife's teacher colleagues. We came away very pleased with our choice. We had one of the Valentine's Day specials--fillet mignon, and it was excellent. Our wait person, Sonia, was prompt and responsive without being overly familiar; she clearly wanted us to enjoy our meal. Unlike our experience at other restaurants, she was informative without any blatant attempt to sell us something. O'leander has a limited but diverse selection of beer and wines at reasonable prices. Our visit to O'leander greatly enhanced our Valentine's Day experience, and we will be back.

O'leander is not for everyone. If you are looking for tech boom excess, this is definitely not the place for you.
