Great Repair Shop. I found this place after going to best buy geek squad. I didn't want to spend the 200 or so dollars to send my laptop to there service center and was informed about this small shop downtown. The front clerk was really knowledgeable and the tech who called me with diagnosis made it clear and easy for me to understand what was going on. I had a bad hard drive and it needed to be replaced. They replaced with a new part that had a 3 year warranty and told me not to hesitate to call if i had any issue whatsoever. I'll definitely be going back if i have any issues.
Absolute horrible service. My laptop stopped charging April 2, 2010. I took it to bobcat laptops on April 3, 2010. They told me it would be 3-5 days before they could diagnose it however on April 5 they called and told me it just needed a part replaced and that they ordered it that same day. I assumed I'd have my laptop back within the same week. I didn't hear anything back so I called on the 9th and asked if the part had come in. They said no it had not but that shipping should take from 3-5 days so I should expect it in latest by April 10 and get my computer back that day although they kept reassuring me that it would be much sooner. On April 10 I called back and received the same information and assurances. It is now April 13, 2010 and I just called to ask about the part and the person I talked to had no idea what was going on and said it would probably be 3 to 5 days. When I told him it had been 8 days since they allegedly ordered the piece he said he didn't know what to tell me. When i asked for a manager he said they didn't have one and started being extremely rude and told me he couldn't do anything for me and didn't know what was going on and would call me back later. This is an absolute disaster. They are extremely unprofessional and have awful customer service. No one seems to know or care what is going on. DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER HERE FOR ANY REASON.
Bobcat Laptops will SCAM YOU!. BOBCAT LAPTOPS WILL SCAM YOU! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BOBCAT LAPTOPS EVER AGAIN!!! The little things they to to make a quick dollar... Today, 8/10/09, a particular Bobcat Laptops employee tried to screw me into having work done on my laptop to make some quick cash off me. All he had to do is tell me to remove the adapter from an old drive, and put it on the new drive. What takes 4 seconds to fix could have been money out of my pocket. I had the drive right in front of his face, asked him nicely--he knew that all I had to do is remove just one little piece by hand--yet he decided to withhold that information, and try and charge me for it!!!!! I am a TX State student, and Bobcat Laptops doesn't deserve to have "Bobcat" in their company name. Nice way to do business guys! Take that into consideration before you get work done from them. If you don't know a lot about computers, they WILL take advantage of you!!!
