Austin >Spill Bar
dirty, rude staff, price gouging. We went during SXSW, the place was filthy, the staff was rude. I thought the drinks were overpriced, but paid my tab and left. When i got home and looked at my receipt I noticed why. They had added a "$1 up" fee on all our already overpriced drinks. Price gouging during SXSW is rude, wrong and anti-Austin. If I could give ti zero stars I would. Don't go to this place
A big trashy.
Been here a couple times and am never impressed. The music is okay, the crowd is very young, and aggressive at times. Of course put too many twenty-something testosterone filled men together and what do you get!? Fights.
Even the girls are a lil aggressive. It reminds me of a lower class type of place where a lot of people have something to prove, including the hyper-inflated staff egos. Overall not really worth your time, but then again if youre with a bunch of good friends having a good time anyway, you can go just about anywhere.
AWFUL!. I have been to this bar on three different occasions, and it only gets worse. There is nothing worse than enjoying a night out and encountering rude and cocky staff. After ordering a drink, the bartender proceeded to tell me that he did not want to make my drink again and to pick something else. I thought he was joking and insisted that I did not want anything but that particular drink. After wasting time trying to get me to choose something 'more fun to make' he handed me what looked to be what I ordered. Only after I had paid and walked away did I take a sip to realize that he purposely made a completely different drink. - Poorly made at that with a repulsively undrinkable strong watermelon taste. It was awful and ridiculously priced! After a short lived night at Spill due to the cocky staff, over-priced poorly-made drinks, and the young & aggressive crowd (several outbreaks occurred that night not to mention people constantly getting rudely shoved around) I would never go back and can only hope that a new bar will take over the hole in wall soon. Too many bars like this on 6th street will ruin the tradition of fun Austin nightlife. I suppose the only constructive criticism I can offer is to employ a more polite staff and treat customers like actual guests. The cocky kids you have at the door and behind the bar forget that they are there to serve the customer. The service overall would need to improve drastically for me to ever consider returning or recommending this place to anyone I know.
hot spot on 6th. its a HOT place to get GREAT drinks and meet LOTS of BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!! DOES NOT have the trashy 6th street vibe! It has a cool bar set up! GREAT PLACE TO WATCH THE UT games on a HUGE SCREEN and drink really COLD BEER!!!!
