Food--awesome chicken and waffles. So
good seriously! Atmosphere is ok but gee it feels so dirty! Playscape is fun for kids. Lots of dogs :)

#1) My lunch guest vomited 10 mins.
after leaving Freddie's Place.
#2) I had to ask for water on 4 different occasions before I got any. They don't automatically serve you water with your food.
#3) Service in general was pretty slow.
#4) I ordered nachos. The menu offered it with chicken or beef. The price was listed for the chicken nachos. The assumption is that the reason the price is not listed for the beef nachos is that it is the same cost as the chicken nachos. You get a surprise when the bill comes. It's more expensive. If Freddie's is listing an item and the price is a different price than the comparable item, they need to be clear about it. Not sting you on the dinner check. To add insult to injury, I think they forgot to put the beef on it. Another person at our table had it and it definitely tasted like it had beef on it. Mine did not.
#5) They automatically add a tip to your bill. So if you get bad service like no water after 4 requests, you're stuck.
We won't be going back.

Pet-Friendlyness.
Freddies was awesome. We had the fish tacos and they were great! We also brought our King Charles who was welcomed with open arms. In fact, our entire Austin vacation was perfect. BTW pet lovers, we found a website Pet Hotels of America that is a pet-friendly website and booked our hotel and car rental through it. This made traveling with Zula soooo easy! Once we were there, it was paradise. So many things to do and see that welcome pets. Felt right at home. Thanks Freddies and all the other Austin places that made traveling with our dog so easy.

Great outdoor hangout.
Love this place!!! We always have a great time hanging out here whether it is in the summer or winter time. Their washers area is a blast and you can't beat their staff.

Poor Service.
Tried them twice. Took a friend last year. They force you to buy alcohol even if you order food or have members in your party that don't drink. Rude on top of it. Skip this anti-Austin joint. Go next door or down the street to Jovitas or La Reyna.

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Many restaurants have tried and failed at this location but none built a beautiful outdoor patio under the live oaks along Bouldin Creek like Freddie did. Knuckle up to the bar for a meal or sit at one of their interior tables in the spacious dining room but most people opt for the great outdoors. Known for their happy hour specials and burgers, they also offer family fun like a washer tournament every Wednesday and Kids Movie night on Tuesdays. Their Blue Plate specials are served Southern style from 11am 'til they run out with a different plate dedicated to each day of the week and served with a small salad and choice of additional side. Catering to family and feeding the community in a warm relaxing atmosphere is what Freddie's Place does best.
