BEST Hamburgers in Austin. I ordered one of Stallion Grill's hamburgers on Friday and was VERY impressed. The buns are homemade which is an added bonus to an already delicious menu item. The hamburger patty was cooked to perfection and piled high with lettuce, tomato, onion, and melted cheese. I could barely eat half of it. It's definitely something you could split between 2 for lunch or take home the leftovers for dinner. I had french fries and onion rings - both were perfectly seasoned and hot from the fryer. This is THE place in Austin for a homecooked hamburger. I'm a fan for life!

Austin Fave. Stallion Grill is THE place to go in Austin if you are looking for a home-cooked meal. The food isn't fancy - just good ole' Southern comfort food. I'm a huge fan of anything that is pan-fried, smothered, cooked with bacon, creamed, cheese covered, and other wonderful artery-clogging goodness that is soul food. I've found it hard to find a meal like this in Austin that is just good simple soul food without the hype. Though nothing fancy, there is something to be said about quality unassuming food in Austin... not always an easy thing to find.

Southern Comfort!. Stallion Grill has some of the best southern/soul food in Austin. If you are looking for some mouthwatering mac n' cheese, crispy fried okra, and southern collard greens, this will be your new fave spot!

Down-home 'cue joint churns out finger-lickin' specials.. If tucking into a heaping pile of tender, lovingly smoked meats piled by two or more sides of starchy items and/or vegetables sounds like heaven, you'll have to get in line with the rest of the customers here. There is in fact a metal turnstile and subsequent railings one must weave between to order such a seriously calorie-laden meal. Meat-lovers can choose from chicken, ribs, a hefty meatloaf, brisket, turkey, and ham, then either have them in sandwich form, a la carte, or pile on sides. While the setting is extremely low in frills, who cares about plastic trays and styrofoam cradling your food when it is on the plate for such a brief moment in time?

Too Bad.... I work nearby and enjoy Stallion's food, however...It is a disappointing feeling when you notice a ton of small things that would make the restaurant a lot better as a whole. The food is good but the attitude of some employees that work there is poor. And they seem to be the owners. They are not very professional. The girl at the cash register seems to be angry that she is even there. I thought her eyes were going to roll right out of her head. And their is obvious tension in that work place. The cleanliness could be improved greatly. It's a smoke house, I know, but come on. It is the bachelor pad of restaurants. I am not ignorant either. When this used to be Holiday House (different Owners) I worked there. The extra effort would be a payoff. This place has so much potential!

Distasteful conduct, innapropriate language, worst attitude.. Incompetent owner, Steve. Cursed me out AFTER spilling meat all over in my car because of lack of common sense. The meat was for a work function and we bought $400 worth of meat, and planned on using them again.

Never apologized for the mistake of his incompetent employees, told me to eat s@#!. Very immature and no sense of taking responsibility. Passed blame on me. Steve had a VERY confrontational attitude, and no sense of education to speak to me like an adult.

I am also very surprised it passed health inspection. It is a VERY dirty place. I am not just saying that to be mean, but it's a very dirty place, and I didn't feel clean when I ate there before.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The food is not flavorful and even if it was, I would never give Steve the business again. I would rate it lower than a one star but thats all I can do.

Best Barbeque. The Stallion Grill has some of the best barbeque I have tasted. The smoked chicken is so flavorful, the potato salad--unreal, tender brisket, the list goes on an on. The Stallion Grill catered an event for our office and I will now add this to the top of my list for great BBQ. They also have daily specials and have extended their hours to include breakfast. My dining experience was great, but the food---the food was fabulous!
