Editorial Review for Joe's Bar & Grill – by Tara Hall
In Short
Wedged between high-rise lofts and an Italian eatery, Joe's is a clean, modern version of a neighborhood bar with an expansive deck. The hip-hued slate and cranberry walls dress up the casual interior decorated with plasma TVs, shuffleboard and pool tables. With an extensive drink menu--a variety of beer, wine and bubbly is available, including 16 tequilas and six cognacs--it's no wonder the after-work crowd comes in for weekday happy hours.

We went here for a casual dinner, and came home after a sub-par meal. Basically this is a bar, probably a nice place to hang out if you are looking for a "trendy" place and like a clean, "hip" bar to hang out for a few hours. This isn't the place to grab a bite, in that the food was not that good . . . which is pretty much how many bars are. There are plenty of places to grab something to eat in downtown, have a nice meal, etc., so go there first and then come to Joe's for a few drinks. Beware: really bad parking, esp. Thurs-Sat.
Pros: Looks like your urban, hip, yuppie-verging-on-oldie place to be
Cons: Parking is a hassle, food a miss

Our group of 8 went here for lunch. It wasn't that busy, but it took our food FORTY MINUTES to arrive. There was not one word of apology or explanation from our surly waitress, Debbie. It wasn't until we actually stood up to walk out that she began bringing out our food one dish at a time. One of our party's burger was so undercooked that he actually went and threw up in the mens' room. Debbie not only never explained or apologized, she charged us full price for everything AND ADDED A 17% GRATUITY TO OUR CHECK!!! For her fabulous service, no doubt. With all the great places around for lunch, there is no way I would go here.
Cons: Debbie
