From the first phone call to make an appointment to Keith's on-site evaluation and Vincent's fertilization of my trees -- their service couldn't have been any better. Keith definitely "knows his stuff" when it comes to trees, taking the time to explain his assessment and recommendations for my trees. He showed a genuine interest in their care and for me as a new customer.
Unhappy with the service. They were unprepared and didn't do what I asked them. When confronted they made excuses instead of trying to figure out how to make it right. Seems like some people have had positive experiences, but I will definitely use a different company in the future.
Business run by unprofessional twenty-somethings.
I used Austin Tree Experts last year to trim some shooters off the live oaks on my property. The arborist that came out (Michah) was young and personable. He submitted an estimate of around $200 for the shooters and said that someone wouldn't be able to come out and two the work for another two weeks. Two weeks later, a group of Mexican workers showed up and proceeded to chop shooters of the trees without paining the wounds. They also ripped some very nice decorative ivy off the oak in the back yard without asking.
I called them again this year because of the terrible reviews I read on other companies in this forum --- to give them another chance. Apparently, they have only one person handling the phones (Casey), another twenty-something. First she schedules the work for a Thursday morning, two weeks out. I get a call on the Tuesday before my appointment saying Michah is running late. I told her the appointment wasn't until Thursday. She apologized for double-booking. On Thursday, I cleared my schedule to be available in the morning for the appointment with Micah. I get a call just two minutes before the appointed time from Casey saying that Micah wasn't going to be able to make it and she didn't know if he's make it at all that day or any other day. I called her back (still giving them the benefit of the doubt) and asked when I could at least expect a call from Micah. She said he'd call me in the evening after his last appointment, and that it would be late. Needless to say, I never got the call.
Bottom line, this is an operation run by young, unprofessional people that are not only extremely disorganized, but find the cheapest (most likely least qualified) help to execute their jobs for them. I am surprised to see so many shining reviews here. Perhaps my experience is just the exception to the rule. Or perhaps these kids just had their friends write some reviews for them.
Austin Tree Experts - not so expert. While trimming my neighbors cedar, they used the red oak on my property which grows next to and above the cedar as an anchor. Within a day of the their work, the trunk broke at the base and fell into the cedar tree. They claimed they did not use the branch to rope down limbs. They claimed mold, the weather, anything to avoid responsibility. Very nice gentlemen and seemed knowledgeable but may have made some major mistakes.
amazing.... I have been saving for a big tree trimming job and after reading the previous reviews, went w/ Austin Tree Experts. They came in about $300 less than I expected and did truly an amazing job. I did have them come back out the next day for a few 'odds and ends'...no problem, they showed up and had it done w/in an hour. Micah was my contact person. I will have these guys come out every year now to 'touch up' and keep my crepe myrtles in shape.
Simply Awesome work!. Keith and Austin tree Experts are my tree guys! Will not trust anyone else! Honest, affordable, what a huge difference in my yard! All my neighbors are asking...who did your trees! Glad to have a sign in my yard anytime!
Best Tree Trimming in Austin. I hired Austin Tree Experts to trim two large pecan trees and one medium oak last year. Not only do they have insurance (so that you don't get sued if one of their workers is injured on the job - a big plus when you're dealing with a potentially dangerous job), but they were timely, professional, and came in at about half of what I was expecting to pay. I recommended them to my parents, who had a larger tree trimming project, and they did and impeccable job for a great price there as well. This type of business can be so hit or miss, but I've had two fantastic experiences with Austin Tree Experts and will never use anyone else.
Refreshing, Knowledgeable, Honest. I called to get an estimate on removing two olive trees in my backyard and Kevin came by to take a look. Rather than trying to sell me on the project, he actually told me it was something i could do myself and that the project wouldn't justify the cost of sending a crew out to do the job. (He even showed me which branches to cut when i do it myself!) He was knowledgeable and honest and it was so refreshing to talk to someone who really does seem to have the customer's best interest in mind. We're going to tackle this project on our own this time, but will call Austin Tree Experts if we ever need anything else!
Honest business. I have not yet used Austin tree Experts but did have Mica come out and give me estimates. I have a couple acres of sick Post Oaks and had done enough research that I already had an idea of what could be done – not much. But still I was concerned enough about my trees to get out an expert and I left myself wide open saying I was interested in everything from tree removal, to fertilization, aeration, fungal treatment, or whatever could be done to save my 30 or so Post Oaks being heavily attacked by Hypoxylon fungus. Mica was intelligent , knowledgable, friendly, and honest guy - essentially telling me my soil was great, and my trees are suffering from drought and other natural issues that I can’t control – nor could he help my trees beyond what I had already done. The fact that he didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need moves me to write a great recommendation for Austin Tree Experts,. And the one quote I did get for a large Post Oak removal was about the same that an Arborist I worked for (20 years ago in another state) would have charged – I thought very reasonable.
Excellent Service. I hired Austin Tree Experts to remove two large Ash trees. They gave me a good bid, finished the work early, and their crews were considerate and tidy. I highly recommend Austin Tree Experts.
