The Belmont has had so many lives it's easy to lose count, but the latest iteration - as a bar, music venue, and private events space - seems to have finally found its footing. This is just one hell of a space: palm trees, a huge rooftop terrace, mod environs? The prettiness of The Belmont has always worked in its favor, but now, the management is doing this beautiful property justice.
Great new look!. Went to The Belmont during SXSW and had a great time! Ghostland was playing and the place was rockin'. Can't wait to go back.
Not going back.... The Bellmont had horrible service, it was freezing cold, the tea was luke warm, the check was wrong.... what can I say? For these prices it should be a great experience. Will not go back to the Bellmont.
Brunch. Had Sunday morning brunch at the Belmont. If we had added mimosas/drinks to our brunch maybe it would not have seemed so pricey for mediocre food . $18.95-The variety and quality of food was good but not outstanding. I do love the interior of the restaurant and decor. Dark green leathers booths gave an atmosphere that felt very retro. It seems like it would be a better night spot.
Worst Lunch Ever- new chef. I used to love going to Belmont for lunch. Last time I went they informed us they had a new chef, but they were still able to bring me something similar to what I was used to ordering. This time, the food was awful. Plain, freezer-burned, salty, cheap. But the same prices as before. Service wasn't great either. We decided at this rate we give them 6 months.
new ownership - buyer beware. Recently they changed ownership. I usually enjoy their happy hour on Sunday evening. It's really not what it use to be. Food is lacking in quailty. Service is pretty terrible. The drinks are stiff, but my date didn't get what she asked for. If you've already been drinking and want to listen to good music hit it up; if not I would miss this one and save yourself.
Violent Food Poisoning. Had such violent food poisoning the other night at Belmont and they didn't give the slightest bit of attention or concern when we called and told them about it. I was almost hospitalized because it was a food with mayonnaise (one of the worst types) yet the manager didn't return a single phone call (3 messages were left). I wasn't looking for a free meal or any compensation but wanted them to at least acknowledge the problem. This was on top of their wait staff trying to overcharge us by $40 on our bill the same night. They said they were charging happy hour prices to get us to order but then charged full price. Ownership apparently changed recently so I urge anyone thinking of going there to think again and go somewhere else. No one should be as violently ill as I was immediately after eating their food!
Find another place for Brunch.
Brunch;
Find some where else to go for your Sunday brunch! This place is OK if you are a college undergrad looking for food on Sunday afternoon after a night of drinking. However, if you are seeking a quality brunch: the food, customer service and atmosphere will not be acceptable.
When my wife and I walked in we were sat in the back of the outdoor portion of the restaurant at a table where the seats were wet. The hostess didn't even make an effort to wipe the chairs down. Our waitress took about 10 minutes to come to the table, but she managed to wait on at least 1 other table (seated after us) before bringing us water. Right at the point we were about to leave (10 min) she came to get our order. We ordered the brunch. The wait staff brought out some pretty bad mimosas and some un-warmed Grocery store cinnamon rolls. The "fresh fruit" was obviously a grocery store, two day old pre-cut selection.
But what capped it all off was how the person delivering the food just threw the food on the table and walked away with out a word. I will never go back there for brunch, and prospects for dinner are slim.
We left without tasting the rest of the brunch, and we went to Moonshine where the food, atmosphere and service was great as always.
Highly Recommended!. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's Day and it was so nice. Our waiter was very nice and I never felt rushed like some places can make you feel when they are having a busy night. I am vegan and the menu for that night was fixed. Our waiter was so nice and asked the chef what he could do. Apparently the chef had not done any specialty orders that day but was more than happy to accomodate. The food was fantastic and I thought it was so nice how attentive they were to my needs.
Loved it!!!. I celebrated my b-day here Saturday night and had the best time. The waitress was so nice and the staff is just great. The food is awesome and the prices are good! I would recommend this place to anyone!!! Thanks for making my night special!
