Editorial Review for The Belmont – by Tara Hall
In Short
This spacious, multifaceted bar/restaurant epitomizes the swanky coolness of Palm Springs or Las Vegas circa 1960. The well-appointed interior--think chinoiserie wall coverings, Lucite chandeliers and bold accent colors--attracts hipsters noshing from the full-service menu or simply socializing with other cool kids. Outdoors, patrons sip flashback cocktails like the sidecar or new concoctions like the Godiva cappuccino martini while lounging on cozy kiwi-colored chaises beneath transplanted palm trees or perched among patio tables.

Insider Tips
Look GoodThis weekend hot spot lures the trendy set, so be sure to step it up when dressing. Flip-flops and casual wear are in the minority here.
Notable ChefExecutive chef Benjamin Nathan prepares a range of classic American plates, from iceberg wedge salad and gravy-soaked meatloaf to the signature Belmont burger. Be aware of the time of day, as menus vary.

With great anticipation (I had been dying to get here due to all the hype) I took three of my girlfriends here for dinner on a Friday night. One of them was from out of town. I found the atmosphere, for dinner anyway, a bit strange. The more important thing was the waiter/staff. We had the worst service. The waiter would disappear and had no personality. We ordered wine, which was sour - sent it back which was met with alot of grief. When he finally re-appeared with the wine (15 mintes later) he stated that indeed it was sour and did we want another bottle. We then proceeded to get our food. Two of us got fish - which was very bland. So I can end this with something positive, I did enjoy the patio outside. I would go back for a bar atmosphere and for DRINKS ONLY!
Pros: Location/Outdoor Patio
Cons: Horrible service/food

I am not sure what to say as the food is not bad but not great. The atmosphere is right on...the drinks are not so good.
Pros: Great decorations...nice patio
Cons: Poor food, lackluster drinks...dirty polo shirts
