Some restaurants wow you with culinary fusion, others wow you with culinary classics. If you're the latter, like La Cocina de Consuelo, you better make sure your ingredients are impeccable - and this Tex-Mex mainstay lives up to it. The salsa is tomato-y and flavorful, the tortillas pillowy soft, and they serve up breakfast stand-bys like Huevos Rancheros and Migas with a smile. Awesome Salsa!. The salsa is AWESOME! Small place and we were able to park, but I could see if it got crowded, it may be an issue. The food was great and very authentic. You can even catch glimpses of the little woman, I assume is Consuelo, cooking everything from scratch in the back. Very fresh with good prices. Will definitely be going back!
Authentic Mexican Food. This small house serves up a tasty menu of classic Mexican comfort food. They make their own tortillas daily and it's a friendly place that's family run.
Really good homestyle Mexican food.
The name of the restaurant is actually La Cocina de Consuelo. I'm not sure why the name is mixed up here.
The restaurant is in a converted house. Parking in back. There are just 6 tables inside and a few outside. The food reminded me of eating at grandma's. I can't wait to go back. FYI: No alcohol is served, but you are welcome to bring your own. The menu is on their website, but doesn't list the dessert options. They do have desserts. Consueloskitchendotcom. One of the best mexican restaurants in town. La Cocina de Consuelo is a little diamond find. And I do mean little (5 tables total) - what a quaint, sweet place ..... my kind of place in the sense of cozy casual. The waiter and Consuelo herself are genuinely friendly and could put a smile on just about anyone's face. The food is good, but what I like most is that it is fresh - very fresh. The prices are reasonable and the portions are perfect - not too much, not too little. Although, queso or guacamole for two must mean two toddlers as I can eat both in their entirety myself. In short, if you want good food at a fair price, with friendliness and charm that's hard to find, this is the place to nestle your little kitten tail and curl up for awhile!
