I had never been to an IKEA until today. I was actually impressed with the size of this store. The furniture might attract those who like contemporary for the most part and don't mind what I think is mainly European--things to fit in small areas which would is ideal for students going to college--living in dorms or small apartments. Pretty reasonable prices if you are on a budget. We did find a lot of useful things though. It's easy to access from the main highway and has plenty of parking. It's also close proximity to several other large retail stores within the same shopping center. Takes a little time to become familiar with the layout but they have maps at the entrance as well as throughout the store. They have a wide variety of things for your home. They also have a small cafeteria in the store with good selection of food and prices. Overall good experience.
Pleasant on Occasion – We love Ikea, we get in some casual walking while getting the kids out of our hair.
Food is very yummy and inexpensive. Down right cheap.
We bought an entertainment center there originally sold for 250.00. Clearance section we ended up paying 100.00 for it. It got damaged in transportation they fixed it and it looks brand spankin new!
Well same day trying to get help loading it was very busy and employees were no help, walked around like they were clueless.
Besides those special moments we haven't encountered any issues. You even get money back when you use your debit card! Awesome!
Love it good food, great prices, free hour of child care!
Damaged Products – I was extremely disappointed with my shopping experience at IKEA of Round Rock, TX. After making a number of purchases at this store, I discovered that a coffee table I had purchased had a huge scratch across the top of the table, and another on one of the legs, even though I was very careful with transporting it. The IKEA is quite far away, so when I called to ask if another part could be delivered, the woman told me that the replacement part was too large to be delivered and I would have to drive out again to the store. She also said I could not be guaranteed reimbursement for my travel. I am really annoyed because I shouldn't have to waste my time and gas money just because the product was not treated carefully enough in the warehouse. Don't go to this IKEA if you don't want to deal with the headache of damaged products and having to make returns.
Low prices and sleek, modern design draw shoppers to this interior decorating superstore. – In Short
Hopen, Malm, Aneboda-no, those are not suggestions to name your pet, but the Swedish names of IKEA's designer furnishings and decorative odds and ends. Created with a "one-way" layout in mind, shoppers weave through a labyrinth of seemingly endless showrooms stocked with equipment to creatively accessorize every room under the sun. With patrons ranging from groups of freshmen students looking to outfit their tiny dorms to entire families, the store offers a huge repertory of styles, patterns and colors for every unique taste. And speaking of tastes, the small restaurant just beyond the cashiers serves up traditional Swedish fare for those who worked up an appetite.
Cheap, cheap, cheap! – There stuff looks cheap but you think well for the price it would be worth it. It is definitely "disposable" stuff but you figure you are not going to pay much so it's not that bad. We wanted to buy the queen and king white comforters/quilts with the variety of quilt covers......because in this store EVERYTHING is separate. You can't just buy a pillow/cushion. You have to buy a white/plain pillow and then all of the "pillow" covers for it. So, it is the same with the comforters. I wasn't thrilled about the quaility of the covers for the comforters but I thought for the price it's fine and at least my daughter can have a variety and we can change them out. But by the time you buy it with the covers you can buy a comforter set in a bag with the bed skirt and shams for the same price. Anyway, when we get to the register the comforter that was marked $34.99 rang up at $99.99 because apparently we got the wrong one. Who can tell? They are all white!!!! It was in the bin with the others marked $34.99 and I NEVER saw A BIG sign that said $99.99 as I did the BIG signs that said $34.99. Very deceiving. Same with the covers. They had signs all over the place advertising them for $19.99 and apparently one of the ones we got was $39.99! NEVER did I see as big a sign saying $39.99 as I did for the $19.99 signs all over the store. Again...very deceiving. Not only that but the one that was $39.99 was the cheaper looking of the two! Needless to say I didn't get anything! Will NOT go back unless I decide to start buying CHEAP!
Great shopping experience – I had read online reviews about IKEA's customer service problems, but we had no problem at all. I have been there on many occasions and had a great shopping experience with no problems. My husband went in on a Saturday, dropped off out kids at the supervised play area (the kids loved it!), purchased an entire living room suit, picked up the kids and was leaving the store with all of our furniture in less than an hour from beginning to end. The sales associate was helpful, the order was pulled quickly and all the employees were friendly. The furniture itself was easy to put together (although it did take 3 people for the larger pieces). We are extremely happy with our purchase and very pleased with the service at the Round Rock IKEA.
We have also eaten in the cafeteria and snack bar. The food is very good for the price and they have many healthy choices.
