Austin >Diablo Rojo Inc
Most experienced piercing studio in Austin..
Hi this is the manager of Diablo Rojo.
This review is in response to the previous negative review.
It is unfortunate that the previous reviewer and her piercer back home are uninformed about new developements and quality in the body piercing industry. Unfortunately most tattoo shops use cheap foreign made jewelry. At Diablo we only use Amercian made implant grade jewelry for intial piercings.
The jewelry that was installed in her nose was designed specifically for nostril piercings. It is an 18g titanium threadless nostril labret post made by NeoMetal an American company based out of Washington State. They have a patent on this style of jewelry and Diablo Rojo is one of the few shops in Texas that use this higher quality exclusive jewerly. We no longer use nostril screws for intial piercings and recommend that people move to the nostril labret post so they don't have the silver hook poking out of their nose. Most of our clientele love the new comfortable style and refuse to wear nostril screws anymore.
At Diablo, we pierce dozens of people each week with this style of jewelry without incident. All the piercers at Diablo are proud members of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) and are highly trained. We definately have the most experienced piercing staff in Austin. Our 4 piercers have over 40 years of combined piercing experience.
Stop in and see for yourself. We welcome questions and love to show customers about this new style of jewelry!
Don't go there.. period!.
After a couple of months with my new nose piercing (I had the piercing done back home) and since it was my birthday I went to Diablo Rojo @ Guadalupe to get a new nose ring.
I wanted to get something bigger... and they had some cool looking stuff. I chose the piece of jewelry that I liked but the process of putting the ring in was really painful. Basically, it hurt and I the guy kept poking me. I payed 30 dls for the new nose ring and thought it was fine.
Weeks later I figured I wanted to go back to the ring that I had originally, but I didn't want to go back to Diablo Rojo and get poked again. Since I was on winter brake and back home I went to the guy that had done the piercing. He was really shocked when he saw that the ring I was wearing on my nose is actually used for ear and lip piercings. To my surprise, he was able to remove the ring without hurting me.
After this experience I'm really skeptical of the professionalism of Diablo Rojo. It just seems to me that they might not even know what they're doing... Bottom line... I was hurt and poked, charged 30 dollars for a jewelery that is not supposed to be used for nose piercings.
Seriously, don't go there.

After getting my belly pierced for the first time, it rejected and I was left with a hideous scar. (Don't get any piercings done at Electric 13 Tattoos.) I wanted to cover up the scar, so I decided to go to Diablo Rojo and get it re-pierced. I walked in and instantly felt welcome. The tattoo artists greeted me right away and told me where I needed to go. From there, I met Clarisse and talked to her about my issue. She carefully went through everything with me and I didn't feel pressured at all. Because of my recent rejection, she went through the after-care procedures with me step-by-step. (They were the complete opposite of what the piercer at Electric 13 Tattoo told me. DON'T GO THERE!) She was so nice and made sure that I was okay during the whole piercing session, since she had to pierce through scar tissue and new it would really hurt. It was a great experience and she even sent me home with salt for the salt soaks and soap so I wouldn't have any confusion with what to buy. It was an awesome experience.
A little while after that, I decided I wanted to get my hips pierced and I knew the only place I would go to and trust with my body, was back at Diablo Rojo. That was where I met Dave. My experience with him was awesome. I was really nervous about getting my hips done and he calmed me down and made me laugh during the whole thing. I wasn't scared at all. He made sure I understood how to take care of the new surface piercings and sent me home with some more salt for my salt soaks. He insisted that I come back in two weeks, so that he could make sure my piercings were healing correctly. A lot of piercers don't really do that because it wastes their time, but the fact that he did it made me feel even better. He's helped me out so many time after that too. He made sure my belly button wasn't rejecting again and even gave me a great recommendation on where to get my tattoo. If I ever have a question about a piercing, I know who to call and that's a great contact to have.
Basically, if you're in Austin and you want to get a tattoo or a piercing, the only place to even consider is Diablo Rojo. The place has a great atmosphere and its so clean. The tattoo artists are amazing. I've seen their work and its awesome. But most of all, the piercers are incredible. They really take care of you in every way and they really do care about their clients!
The only shop(s) i'll go to.
i have been visiting the diablo rojo stores for some time now. as both a fan and advocate of tattoos, piercings, and modification, i sincerely appreciate the great job these shops do. from being someone who has been in the lamar store and seen the quality of work done by the staff, and the standards they hold their business to, i applaud them. with the guadalupe store, i have spent my fair share of time in various poistions to get my tattoos done. sincerely, these are the only establishments i go to, and the only ones i recommend or endorse. i have taken friends and family both to visit and get work done by the staff of diablo rojo, and i have never heard a negative comment from anyone, nor do i have any myself.
simply put, diablo rojo has the reputation in austin it deserves; quality, professionalism, friendly staff, and the highest standards of any shop in town. again, the ONLY shops in town i will recommend, or have work done in.
do not stand behind their service-ended up with scar tissue.
stay away from this place!!!
i got my ears pierced here and left with small rings in my ears. after around 2 months of losing sleep because the holes were irritated and hurt (even with consistently bathing the piercings in the recommended salt water solution), i called to see what the deal was and if i could switch to an earring that was smaller. they said to come in and get "barbells" and that should help since there was less surface area to rub on a pillow or get caught in my hair i went in to get the barbells at the lamar store where i originally had my ears pierced, they did not have them, so i drove to the guadalupe store and waited for quite a while to purchase some there. i did a couple more days of bathing my ears with the salt solution, pain did not go away, went in and i was told how to remove the rings and put the barbells in (the guy would not do it for me). got home and after much pain and bleeding, got the rings out but, could not find the hole in the back of my earlobe to get the barbells, nor even the rings back in-this was now late at night and i could not do anything about it. went in to the lamar shop first thing the next morning to have the barbells put in and my holes were closed up and the guy did not want to repierce my ears because they were so red, sore and painful. i was sent back home to wait for two weeks and then come back in to be repierced. waited, went back in, was told i'd have to wait to have the guy who pierced them in the first place repierce them and he was not there. i won't continue with the story except to say that i went in today and asked for my money back since i do not want to deal with this place again. the guy in there called the owner and i was told a refund would not be given for jewelry purchased and taken out of the store. i only walked out of the place with the earrings because i was told i could not get my ears pierced again because they were so inflamed, AFTER i had paid for them. here's the lowdown:
i have paid for an ear piercing
2 sets of earrings (the irony is they had me buy the ring earrings because they were out of barbells even though that was the better earring for my ear),
gone back 5 times in addition to my original visit, all at a cost of around $200.00
AND I HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT except scar tissue in each lobe where i should have a piercing.
i am angry at the time, energy and money i've wasted on this place. it should be avoided.
