Karen Slafter rocks Resurrection!. THANK GOD for Karen Slafter. I found her after a less than thrilling session (gross understatement) at Southside Tattoo. Some guy there (who I'm sure meant well) managed to talk me into exactly what I DIDN'T want going in. After that I was in full on panic mode about what in the hell to do about this monstrosity that was now displayed on my forearm for all the world to see. Enter Karen. From the moment I met her, I knew she was the ONLY person for the job. Super professional from the start, she listened to everything I wanted, assured me she would do her best to clean up the existing mess, and said she would draw something up. I should also mention that even though she's booked up to a month in advance (duh, she rocks!!) she knew how important this was to me and got me in ASAP. I had to sit for two sessions with Karen, each lasting a few hours. She has her own private space to tattoo and she's a freak about being sanitary, so all of her stuff is immaculate. She is very light handed (so much so that my tattoo healed in less than a week!!) and the tattoo time flies by because she's so friendly and charismatic. She didn't string me along...as soon as I was healed up properly she got me back in. i just finished my last session and she blew Southside away! Her work is better than anything I could have envisioned. All the right colors, perfect lines, just amazing. The girl oozes integrity and you can see it in all of her work. Bottom line - you can't go wrong with Karen Slafter!!

Impeccable service. First let me say, I am already pretty well-tattooed. I have spent many hours under the tattoo gun.

After many years, I decided I wanted a new tattoo, and auspiciously was introduced to Karen Slafter the same week that I had mentioned it aloud. I gave Karen my idea, which she drew up and enhanced beautifully.

Karen is a truly gifted artist - and she cares about her client's needs. She works fast and with great precision.

Her ability to work with color/shading and the abstract is phenomenal...and after being tattooed many times, I must admit hers was somehow the least painful : ) I keep staring at my piece and everyone I show it to has the same immediate response - "WOW, that is BEAUTIFUL!"

If you want professional, artistic, and compassionate service, you will get it all. It is no wonder that she won best tattoo artist in a city full of them!

Pure Artistry. I recently visited Austin for a few days and made sure in my short time there that I had an appointment at Resurrection Tattoos. Karen's artistry made my idea a reality as she expanded on my concept design to create a tattoo that I'll be showing off for a long time. She was able to focus her attention to effectuate my intention in the most beautiful way. I highly recommend her and this shop!

Best Tattoo Shop I've Seen. I don't think I've ever been to a cleaner or friendly place before. Not only are the Artists good at what they do, I mean REALLY good, but the enviroment is exceptional. I would definitely recommend this shop to everyone I know. I am very pleased with the way my tattoo came out that I plan to riddle my entire body with tattoos from Resurrection and hope that I don't go bankrupt in the process. If your looking for a tattoo or just wondering how it all works, you should stop by, meet the staff, and they will help you find something that's right for you!

Ink of the Gods. My body is a container for holding sacred art. I design my work myself and then trust a superb artist to manifest the image onto my skin. Upon returning to Austin after 20 years away, I wanted a new piece to represent my return to my hometown. Only the "Best in Austin" would do...the beautiful, talented, and spiritual Karen Slafter was my destination at Resurrection Tattoo (Austin Chronicle voters called her the "Best in Austin" for three years running now...a major accolade). I now have a gorgeous piece on my shoulder that tells the story I wanted perfectly. Karen's contributions to my design lifted it to a truly heavenly space. Karen and I will dance again and again as I expand the canvas that is me. All the artists at "Rez" are superb. This is a clean, fun-spirited space to get all your body art needs met with professionalism and artistic talent.

Best Tattoo Girl with Heart and Soul. I have been tattooed by Karen a few times. She is the only one I trust to ink me. She has such good chararcter and advice. I recommend her to all my family and friends as one of the Cleanest Artists to work with. She pays great attention to all details and aspects from start to finish. I love all my Art done by Karen!!!!

The Ultimate Tatto Experience. I'm a collector of sorts of tattoos and truly appreciate the artwork and the tatto exprience. Through all of my travels I have been in well over 500 tattoo shops both in the US and abroad and Resurrection is one of the nicest shops that I have been in! Karen Slafter has now done two pieces (first artist to do two pieces on me) and I have been extremely satisfied with not only the work that she layed down but also the total experience. I would definitely direct anyone to head down to Resurrection to see either Karen or any of the other fine artists that they have there. They will work with you to get the artwork that you want, where you want and in a way that will make the experience what it should be!!!!

Karen Slafter - art for life. Karen has been working on me for almost 6 years now. Over this period of time, she has consistently provided me with the some of the most striking color work i've witnessed along with the absolute highest quality and up to date products on the market. Her attention to detail and cleanliness are unparalleled, and her self confidence and knowledge make you feel immediately at home. She is the most honest artist i have ever come across, and wastes no time in sharing her knowledge on what will work best for your body structure, skin type, and skin color as well, as well as providing extra ideas. I have constantly attempted to challenge her skills as an artist, and she consistently comes through in her presentation of my ideas. Don't let the seeming shortage of parking discourage you either, as there is more parking on the side. Once you get hooked on Karen, nothing else will do!

Tina -Great Ink and Best Artist anywhere. Tina is the best artist I have ever encountered. Her art is innovative and the ink fantastic - in the last year Tina has created 7 different tattoos for me - each one beautiful. She really cares about you as a person and takes the time to ensure your tattoo is one you will enjoy and love forever. I highly recommend stopping by Resurrection and meeting the team - Roger, Tina, AJ and Bradley. You won't regret it:)

Karen is a rock star!. I would definitely recommend Karen Slafter. She was very nice, very thoughtful, and she really put A LOT of effort into my tattoos. I wanted tattoos of my dogs, but I didn't want them to be photo-realistic. I wanted them to be a little crazy and full of colors. I was afraid of getting a photo-realistic tattoo because I could spend the rest of my life thinking that they don't really look like the real thing. What's weird is that Karen did her own interpretation and drew up some really crazy dogs with wild colors, AND they totally look like my dogs. Weird, huh? She was really nice, really smart, down to earth, and just a cool babe. She also has a very gentle hand, so it's nice to get tattooed and not get your skin destroyed. She rocks. I love my tattoos.
