Best sports bar and maybe even just all-around BAR in Austin!. I know that my review will not sit well with some, especially the 'best all-around' designation, but if the shoe fits--you know the rest! The location is good. It's well lit and very clean. The parking is in a garage on top of the bar. The staff is very nice and efficient and knows their stuff. The food is pretty great. The plasma's are EVERYWHERE. The other patrons that go here are pretty cool too. I am not sure what more you could want from a bar. I know that my friends and I go here anytime there is a sporting event to watch football, baseball, etc. It does get really crowded with others who have discovered how great it is--BIG TIP--come early from your game of choice!! Enjoy!

Awesome food ~ Great prices!. I've been here twice and every time I browse the menu I find myself wanting to try everything! From the Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak Rolls to the Fried Okra...every single item I've tried has been fantastic! The atmosphere is definitely sports-like and friendly as well. The outside patio is great for people who want to run outside for a quick smoke. This is my favorite place!

Best sports bar in Austin. Plenty of parking, Lot's of TV's, Upscale but reasonably priced. Great place to watch any event. Would highly recommend. Our company has had two happy hours (around 50+ people) here and were very pleased with the service and the bill. No sweat giving the boss the tab Friday morning.

A great power-lunch spot --lively and casual atmosphere with excellent food and wide range of choices. Third Base has become a solid favorite for my business or client lunches because the food is consistently great (trendy, very tasty, and lots of choice from light to large portions). Colleagues and clients ask to go back! I have even scheduled large lunch groups and have had EVERYONE rave about their menu choice --from the burgers, to great salads, sandwiches, to shrimp tacos (my all-time favorite!) to a great steak. A super selection of Appetizers, like the nachos or the mini-burgers, rate big raves and can serve a number of people. The desserts are real winners and big enough to share.

I've been to Third Base at a wide variety of times and, even when it's crowded, the service is prompt and the quality never suffers. Even though the place is new, the kitchen must be real pros!

Sports Bar and Grill or lunch business spot??! The 32 plasma screens are glitzy and fun --great conversation, if you want a diversion, but (surprisingly) not distracting if you need to focus during lunch. (Once the after-work or evening crowd gathers, forget meeting . . . the atmosphere is way too fun by then!) Early or late the waitstaff is always upbeat and alert, but not intrusive; they are also friendly about special requests and separate checks even with a large party.

I am so confident about the place that the local branch of a national non-profit I work with has taken my suggestion to schedule its yearly large fundraising kick-off lunch in the Third Base side room (fits 80 or 90). Third Base provides access to its built-in digital projector and screen to show our own video and digital slides during lunch. This is a unique high-energy venue that will really work for us and (not to repeat myself) I can count on the food being excellent --not the rubber-chicken variety served up at most large group events!

New West Sixth Street Find. I will be back for The Vegetable Medly, The Fried Okra and The Tortilla Soup. They are not what you would expect at a sports bar but they are out of this world. I thought that the cafe umbrellas made the outdoor dining patio quite romantic. It's a great new lunch find. And a happy wait staff adds to the atmosphere of a very sociable place. Lots of free covered parking. What could be easier. Enjoy!

TVs everywhere (even in the bathroom!), Tasty food, Lots of FREE parking, and Nice People. A much needed sports bar for Austin!. Some friends suggested we meet at Third Base to watch a basketball game. I had never been there, but I am always looking for a comfortable place to relax and watch a game. Well, this place has a lot more to offer than just lots of big flatscreen TVs (which are even in the bathrooms!). The food was actually tasty--most unexpected for a sports bar--and there was lots of parking even though the place was packed. Now, if you live in Austin and want to go somewhere downtown you know how hard it is to get parking, but at this place I actually parked in their garage and took the elevator right to door. Very nice. And even though I was for the opposing team, *not always a good situation in a sports bar in Texas*, everyone I met was friendly and by the end our table had grown to include four new people who we ended up drinking and laughing with for two hours. I also noticed this place had a new shuffle board table, pool tables and darts. All around a good mix for a sporting place, just the right fit of restaurant and bar. And the drinks were not overpriced! Overall I would have to say I highly recommend Third Base. Just the sports restaurant/bar that downtown Austin needed.

Great food, tons of TVs!. FINALLY! It's hard to find a good bar/restaurant that combines good sports viewing and good food in one. I'm not kidding about the food, either. It's good and it's not just the usual fare. Try the philly rolls. Also, lots of FREE parking.

Best Bar & Restuarant combination in town.. If your looking for a fun bar with great atmosphere this is it. There is always a crowd there and parking is easy. The food is an unbelievable bonus. Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with Ranch Dressing are my favorite. Every thing about this place is smokin hot!
