Don't go here by any means! Absolutely horrible, premade, reheated food....
Let me start by saying I am very certain of how I feel, having gone back 6 times. There is a reason why. Cru IN DALLAS was my absolute favorite place to eat. In fact, I said it was the only thing I'd miss when I moved to Austin. I was there the first week they opened and all was great and familiar. Since then, they have started using no wine and powdered cheese or some other heinous concoction in the fondue, and the pizzas on the last 4 visits (yes, I KEPT trying!!) were not only cold, but the cheese was sparce and in one entity or round glob...i.e. reheated pizza. The last time was what my food critic companion and I dubbed "the worst meal of our life"...seriously...the pizza crust was so hard we had to grip it and pull. It was, once again, cold...not one bit of melty cheese to be had. This time when we told our kind server it was cold we got a nice apology...but not so much as a reheat or anything else. I think she knew it's just what it is so what can you do?. Crab cakes...horrible...cheese plate....horrible...
and they have cut the wine servings on a flight in half and itthe place is now empty. Cru in Dallas always has waits. I ddid notice no one else was eating...they just had wine. Can't fool Austin. I do believe they cut back on quality to try to boost profit with premade crusts, powdered fondue that's watered down (so watery it stuck to NOTHING.) and it just didn't work.
Cant tell you how badly I was hoping they would get it together. It's been months and its only gotten worse.
