InStep started in 1993 offering only Birkenstock sandals, Birkenstock insoles & Birkenstock Repairs.

Over the years, we added to our selection of insoles and orthotics, began hand crafting our own insoles and orthotics and filling doctor's prescriptions for footwear and insoles. We expanded our selection of sandals & shoes to include many comfort brands which include Aetrex, Dansko, Earth & Naot. A locally owned comfort shoe boutique, we are proud to be both a friendly and a knowledgeable resource for physicians, podiatrists & Texans seeking relief from foot pain.

Here at Instep, we have two Certified Pedorthists on staff, available for consultation & prescriptions. Most of our shoes don't look like the shoes you see everywhere else. They look better! They are gently sculpted to mimic the shape of a healthy foot. Most are designed to accommodate your prescription orthotic.

Even though I bought clearance sandals, I was treated nicely and everyone smiled and showed kindness to my children, too. I can't afford expensive shoes very often but I see the value in quality products sold by people who really help you. I am happy to drive across town to buy them from your store whenever possible! (Being able to get my Birkenstocks re-soled at your store is a plus! Your repair shop did a really nice job.)
