Prayers answered for curly hair. I have naturally curly hair and have always just gone with the flow on the cuts I've gotten in the past...I never knew that I could actually have a "style" with curly hair, I thought it would always just do what it wanted and that was that, until Tanya. I first went to her back at Toni and Guy and from the first cut was completely hooked. I actually lived in College Station at the time and happened to be in town(Austin) and decided to get my hair cut while I was here. Needless to say I ended up traveling almost 2 hrs for every haircut. Thankfully I moved to Austin a while back and the drive has been much shorter. I since followed Tanya to Barocca and can't wait to see the new salon she's moved to now, seriously if you have curly hair you must go to Tanya, no one does it better!!!!...cut, style and color! Got a lot of hair? Tanya is your girl.. I found Tanya online from her profile at Barocca (where she used to work before the manager decided to close up shop and make a life change). The profile said that she could handle thick and unruly hair so I took a chance. Since my first visit with her at Barocca, I have followed her to Bo Salon in SoCo. If she ever leaves Austin, I will be in grave trouble. I have had my hair done by some of the best stylists in Dallas (Jose Eber, Jean Phillipe, and other overpriced salons), but nothing has compared to the two amazing haircuts I have received from Tanya. She'll do what you want or if you prefer, she'll do what she thinks is best and that is usually the way to go. She can straighten your hair or give you the most beautiful curls you have ever seen (I still cannot perfect her method, and I've been styling my hair since I was 7). If I ever have an event, she'll be the one to do my hair. She is also a colorist. I just went from a boring brunette to an awesome red-head. She's down to earth and very real, and most importantly, she can handle any type of hair! Her prices are definitely reasonable considering the quality - $65, and Bo Salon is very chic but comfortable. See you soon Tanya!
