Tips for Longhorn Automotive

Low Prices and Great Service. I recently needed a new alternator put into my '93 Grand Am. The price I was quoted at Longhorn Automotive was about $200 less than the price the dealership quoted me. I was able to get my car up there and within the same day the bad alternator was taken out, part was delivered, and my car was ready. I have had very many experiences with automotive repair shops and Longhorn Automotive tops the list, by far. It's easy for shops to think they can give a college student; or anyone for that matter, the run around and it's nice to know that there is a shop around like Longhorn.

Quality Service, Low Price. I have gotten my oil changed here since I moved to Austin about a year ago to attend UT and have always received great, friendly service along with some discounted oil changes. I recently had some needed work done to my engine and once again received quick service at a low price. Actually, the work was quoted at a lower price than it turned out to be (parts ran a little higher), but the original quote was honored which saved me about twenty bucks, on top of the already cheaper prices than other places I looked into...Nothing but a good experience going to Longhorn Auto

Best Repair Shop In Town. If you're looking for a fast, friendly and honest mechanic, Longhorn Auto is the place to go. My 02 Honda was repaired faster than I expected, the price was $150 lower than anyone else, and in addition I recieved a discount for being a UT student. This will be the shop I reccomend for automotive repairs.

Beware!. I had my car towed in for repairs and I was told on 2 different occassions I could come pick up my car but both times my car would not turn over. I decieded not to pay any more money and just have it towed home because it seemed to be problem after problem. The day after I called to have my cared towed I received a phone call and was informed my car was running again but it would be more money. It was funny that when I was ready to have my car towed from the shop it was supposedly runnning again. I decided to just have it towed home and he could just put my old part back on, I was afraid when I was to go get the car it wouldn't work and I would be out more money. My advice is to do research on the shop that would be fixing your car and it should never take someone three weeks to work on a car and it still had to be towed home. I will not be going back there again.

Best quality of service. People in longhorn automotive are very friendly and nice to students. Because I am going to UT Austin they even offered me a 20% student discount without sacrificing the quality of service. I will recommend this place to my friends for sure.

Decent work, Low price, be careful you get what you pay for.... ive used this guy a few times and the past, and he did some decent work on my car for a very low price, but i recently had a/c problems with my current car, and have had nothing but problems and more and more costs since ive had him "fix" it the first time. i had spent $800 to have it fixed, and then when it stopped working for the 3rd time, he told me i needed a part he had originally said i wouldnt need, costing me atleast another $800 to fix it. so now im out $800 and still have no a/c. but like i said. ive had him do work in the past with no problems. i just know that after this experience, i will not be going back to him. id rather pay someone else a little more to have it done right the first time. just be careful.

Quality auto work at a low cost, Great customer service. This guy surely provides quality service at very reasonable price.

The staff is very polite and knowledgeable. Next time I require any auto service, I am not gonna look anywhere else. I recommend them to anyone who's looking for superior work at a low cost.
