Signature Home improvements started our job on Jan. 7, 2013 and refuses to finish because we refuse to make the final payment. We refuse to make the final payment because there are several problems that need to be resolved. Most importantly, the did not pull the required permits through the city of Round Rock. They claim permits were not needed and claim to have been told by the city that this is the case. We have now been told by two different people at the City of Round Rock that permits were indeed required, including Mark Remmert, the Building Official. In addition, 4 electrical code violations have already been found in the island alone. UPDATE: the kitchen has been inspected by a licensed electrician and many more code violations were found on 6/18/13. We are currently awaiting mediation with the Better Business Bureau. Not only are we concerned about whether we can ever sell our house or make an insurance claim if there is a fire, but is it even safe to be living here? Stay away from Signature Home Improvements. And, if you have used them in the past I hope they got permits-if not, get a 3rd party inspection.

Signature Home Improvements did our Kitchen/Bar remodel including with new granite countertops and tile backsplash. We decided to use Signature because they worked with us on design and also have their own employees do the work without using sub-contractors. Their knowledge and expertise was valuable due to a challenging problem with the bar countertop we wanted that needed adequate support for the granite. They designed and built a matching half wall (pony wall) onto an existing cabinet for a nice finished result with very sturdy support for the cantilevered granite bar top. Working with them was a good experience from the start to finish. MJ’s quotation established clear expectations of work required and the workers were knowledgeable and professional with excellent experience and skills and put in extra effort to do quality work. Communication was good throughout the job with scheduling and work plans conveyed clearly and they did what they said they would. The Demolition, Granite, Woodworking and Tile install all went smoothly. They cleaned up each day and were careful to minimize the impact of the work through the rest of the house and this all resulted in a finished job that I am very pleased with. I definitely would use them again for other bathroom or kitchen remodel work and recommend them from my experience on this job.

We chose Signature Home Improvement (SHI) to remodel our kitchen and master bath because they do not use subcontractors. We felt that the job would go more smoothly. SHI workers have a good comradery, work well together and help each other if needed. They are skilled and their work is impeccable. We felt that each crew showed great attention to detail as they worked in our home The job took about 7 weeks. Being home alone all day, I cannot stress how comfortable I always felt with the SHI employees in my home everyday.

Although we signed the contract with Jason, I eventually worked with Emily. Emily is knowledgeable and helped me lay out the different tiles for my kitchen and bath and it all came together. Martin installed the tiles. He did a wonderful job. With the help of Amador, the painter, they revised my tile design to integrate a travertine window seal. I was skeptical, but it is a favorite detail in the remodel. I searched for almost two months for just the right tiles, and I think that it would be helpful for future clients if SHI had a showroom with design ideas and samples of tiles, etc.

Original contract called for a dimmer for the kitchen lights. I never felt that we needed a dimmer, but felt that we needed one more canned light. Emily was so easy to work with and switched the dimmer for another canned light. The electrician, Sergio, was so patient while he helped me figure out where the canned lights would be located. Supports under our granite bar were not in contract, but were needed, and SHI added the supports and trim at no extra cost and it looks terrific. Hetsiel and Amador took down wallpaper, repaired sheetrock and painted walls and kitchen cabinets and stained bath cabinets. They did an amazing job. Joe, the plumber, also took great care making sure the plumbing jobs were perfect.

After the job was completed and the final check was written, a hole the size of straight pin head appeared in the travertine counter in the master bath. SHI sent Tomas out to repair the hole at no cost to us. Then, five months after the job was completed, I knocked over a (very heavy) stone soap dispenser into one of my porcelain bath sinks. It cracked and chipped the sink. I was so upset, but I called Signature and they came to our rescue. They cut out the broken sink, installed a new sink and reconnected the plumbing at what we thought was a very reasonable price.

It was a pleasure working with Emily, Heather and Savannah. No matter how big or small the problems, they were always there to solve them. It is comforting to know that we can count on them for any problems that arise in our home. I would absolutely hire Signature Home Improvements again and have already recommended them to numerous friends.

Signature recently installed beautiful new granite countertops and a travertine back-splash with glass tile inserts. I told myself I would only get 3 estimates and then I would choose the one company I was most comfortable with. The third company that came in was so ‘shady’ I allowed myself one more and I am so glad I called Signature. The quality and service we received was outstanding. MJ and the entire staff were extremely helpful and walked us through the whole process. We will definitely be calling Signature for future home improvements and highly recommend them to anyone else looking to do the same.

We just completed a kitchen remodel with Signature. New cabinets, stained existing cabinets, granite countertops and travetine with glass backsplash. The entire experience from the first meeting with MJ to the punch list with MJ was an absolute delight. These folks know how to run a business. They were always up front and honest about everything. Someone was always available for us to call if we had a question. Even on the weekend I was able to contact MJ. No hidden cost, no fine print, just simply the most professional group of people you can imagine. The craftman were all extremely knowlegdeable in their particular craft and did a superb job. They worked together and produced an absolute perfect product. MJ would stop by periodically to make sure everything was running smoothly. We are 100% satisfied with the project and will definitely call on Signature to do our next home improvement.

Signature Home Improvements completed a kitchen remodel for me this summer and I really enjoyed working with them. Since this was my first experience with remodeling, I needed a lot of hand-holding. They were MORE than helpful on every aspect of the process. The girls in the office are knowledgeable and respectful of my time when scheduling. The people who came into my home were always polite and friendly and offered suggestions that I hadn't thought of. The finished product was beautiful and ON BUDGET! I highly recommend SHI.

I had new cabinets made as well as granite countertops and two doorways widened and arched. The workmanship and professionalism of the different crews is greatly appreciated and I have no problem paying a little more for the quality of work. Having all of the workers coming from the same place and all being employed by Signature made it easier and quicker to correct any issues we found (there were not many and all were minor). My only suggestion would be more/better communication between the different crews as well as with scheduling. There were a couple of times when the crews were unclear as to the specifics of the job, but they were quickly resolved. As I am employed in Afghanistan, they were still easy to work with and I appreciate their ability to work with my schedule while I was on vacation. The kitchen looks 1,000 times better and I would definitely hire them again! You get what you pay for and Signature is a great company with great employees.

MJ and his crew at Signature Home Improvements Inc. just completed remodeling a few aspects of our kitchen. They worked on our countertops, backsplash, cabinet repair and some plumbing work. We are very pleased with the new look these changes have given to our kitchen! The office staff and workers were very professional, polite, helpful and friendly. My husband and I loved working with this company and will do it again to complete the rest of the kitchen project early next year. If you are looking to get a home improvement project, call them, get estimate and consultation, plan ahead and be sure to have plenty of time to deal with all the small details that naturally come with this kind of situation.

Signature Home Improvements did a fabulous job of working with our vision for our master bathroom. We wanted a free standing vanity with definite features and they accommodated all of our needs. The employees were always friendly and willing to answer any questions that we had. We appreciated this, because it was our first major remodel on our fifteen year old house. We will definitely be using them when we get ready to do our kitchen remodel. Very pleased with the final results!

Signature Home Improvements just finished a project at our house and we are very happy with the results. We had our entire kitchen remodeled (cabinet resurfacing, tile, countertops, new island, backsplash, paint, etc.) The employees that work for Signature are very nice and easy to have in your home. They are also perfectionists - if I needed something corrected that I did not feel had been done to my liking, there was never any question. The issue would be taken care of immediately and I never got the feeling that they were the slightest bit annoyed with my nit-picking. A couple of times, the employees would catch their own mistake and correct it before I even had a chance to say anything. The price was agreed upon before the project, so we never felt like we were being taken advantage of. The project took longer than expected, but that is a very small price to pay for a job done well. They have experts in their respective fields and I am not sure that we have ever had a plumber as good as theirs. I can’t see one mistake in the backsplash and we finally came up with a solution for a new island that gives us a ton more storage. After looking around at different companies for a kitchen remodel, I realized we were going to have to have a company that could do it all – and we found it with Signature Home Improvements.
