Editorial Review for Estancia Churrascaria – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Traditional Brazialian fare is served at a set price with flair in this traditional Hill Country-esque farmhouse. Casual upscale southwest Austin professionals and families dine at cloth-covered tables in an otherwise warm and relaxed interior. Chefs prepare ten seasoned meats, including pork, beef, chicken, lamb and sausage, which they carve at your table and place directly on your place. Brazilian fried bananas, rice and beans, yucca and an extensive salad bar round out the offering.

Growing up in Houston, we ate at Fogo de Chao quite a bit, so when Estancia opened here, I had to try it. It exceeded all of my expectations. The service is prompt and always friendly- glad to respond to any request. The food is consistent and very tasty. In comparison, the salad bar is quite a bit smaller than Fogo De Chao, however it is still very good and that is really the only major difference, that and the lower price per meal. The wine selection is notable. This is a great place, I take all of my clients for business dinners and it's something everyone always enjoys. It can get busy on weekend nights, and I haven't been for lunch so I cannot comment on that, but otherwise, Estancia is an all-around wonderful place to go. The owner takes alot of pride in what he does, and that combined with his extensive knowledge of Brazilian style cooking has made this restaurant one of my regular places to go. Do plan a good amount of time though when dining here, as the presentation and process are all part of the experience. It doesn't take long to be seated, however the progress of the meal (as with that in any churrascaria) can take longer than a usual meal. Also, if you're a wine drinker be sure to check out the extensive wine list, it is an offering of wines you would expect to see as well as some surprisingly nice choices that I was not familiar with prior to dining here. If you would like to try something new, they are great at suggesting the perfect wine for your pallate.
Pros: Excellent Service, Great Wine List, Consistently good food
Cons: Meal may take longer than at a more traditional style of restaurante due to the process

I went there with my family before christmas, and I must say that I have never tasted meats as delicious as the cuts they offer here. From the chicken drumsticks seasoned to perfection to the tender and delicious filet mignon. But my truly favorite was the picanha... The salad bar was beautiful, my cousin had visited another brazilia steakhouse and told me that the salad bars are usually bigger than here, but the salad bar at Estancia was very well selected and the quality was impecable. Not to mention the wine selection, it was very nice and with prices for everyone. Great restaurant!
Pros: Service, meats and wines
