My husband surprised me by making reservations at Truluck's for my birthday. I had been craving great seafood for some time. As an appetizer we ordered shrimp cocktail which arrived in a steamy cloud of dry ice. They were plump and meaty. The sauce had a pleasant kick. I ordered the Alaskan King Crab with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The crab was delicious and meaty and was neatly cut down the middle so I didn't get too messy. The potatoes were very flavorful. The asparagus was the only let down of the night - stringy and too soft. My husband ordered the center-cut sirloin 8 oz well done. Very tender and flavorful and didn't require any additional sauces. We were both impressed that the maitre'd served the steak and waited till my husband cut into the center to see if it was satisfactory. Our waiter did an excellent job as well. Was knowledgeable and courteous when needed and didn't hover unnecessarily. Presented us with a seafood tray describing what was in season. Did a great job recommending a sweet wine to compliment my meal. We'd been eyeing the gorgeous dessert tray all evening and were going to flag down our waiter to have him show it to us. He informed us that they had a little surprise being prepared (since they knew it was my birthday). They didn't sing, thank goodness! It was a little chocolate cake with a molten chocolate filling and raspberry drizzle. Perfect finishing touch to a delightful meal. And to finish off the night, our waiter gave us a small box of hand-made truffles and birthday card. We had a wonderful first impression of Truluck's. Excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely be back.

Cons: prefer smaller table for more intimate setting and need more candlelight

My fiance and I went here on our 2 year anniversary and it was magical. We made reservations and from the hostess to the waiter, bus person and manager, everyone was all smiles and very nice and helpful. And the food was divine! We started with the 3 crab cocktail, my fiance got the steak medallions w/ chicken & shrimp and I had the sesame tuna. Our waiter was very attentive, nice and funny, but not too attentive, nice or funny. I recommend this location over the downtown one and get Adam as your waiter. He even brought us a special occasion dessert w/ candle for free!
Pros: Great food, amazing customer service.
Cons: A little pricey but worth it for the service, ambience and food.
