Don't waste your time, this place is horrible! Bad service, low menu selection, just bad all around. Went here on a Saturday night recently and was highly disappointed.. the place had about 3-4 tables full, the rest of the place was empty or at the bar. it took forever for someone to even acknowledge us and even longer for our wine to arrive. Once it did she just walked away, no info on specials, no asking if we wanted an appetizer.. strange. We flagged her down after 15 more minutes and ordered the crab cakes. They arrived barely warm and soggy. Strike two.. so we ask about the specials and she didn't know of any. ok HU??? She said the menu changed due to a change in chefs so she wasn't sure what was available that night. This was the last we saw of her... I am not kidding. We flagged down another gal who luckily turned about to be the manager. She covered our check and promised things would ne better next time.

Um, no thanks! We'll stay in N Austin at Sambet's....

T^hats not Cajun food, this is 6th street, tourist Cajun food. We met friends for dinner thinking we were trying a place we'd yet to go to - ok this is a bar that happen to have a dining room that happens to sell food that is kind of liek Cajun food. Frankly I can make better at home. Ok I did marry a Cajun girl so I know I can cook better at home but you'd think they would offer something tastey.

Basic, nothing fancy but could be a fun place if you are into the 6th street insanity. We started there too early, next time will come by for drinks later.

Poor service; just OK food. We visited this restaurant while in town for business. Since we are from Louisiana, we were looking forward to a taste of "home". I will say the hostess was very polite and prompt. However, that's where the good news ends. We were there for an early dinner about 6PM. Our waitress' entire vocabulary consisted of one word....."Cool". I had the etouffee and my husband had the fried catfish. The roux was much too thick. While a thin roux is awful too, this roux just wasn't good. The fried catfish had a good batter, but the fish itself was left completely unseasoned and tasteless. It was a little too early in the evening to sample the music, but hopefully it is better. But i won't go back to find out!

Tasty Cajun Bites and Cocktails. I discover Roux while surfing Citysearch for an after work spot with my co-workers. We picked a fun spot with a good crowd that serves quality Cajun appy's and fun cocktails. We all ordered Huricanes which seemed to be the daily special and sampled the fried tomatoes, fried pickles, oysters and the small sliders/burgers. Everything met or beat expectations as a few of the dishes were new to me. Good music was being played and the evening was fun. Roux will now be in my afterwork rotation and a must for dinner.

Love love love the sliders!. What a GREAT place! I was in Austin on Monday and went to this bar/ restaurant for happy hour. They have a new hapy hour menu with items like fried tomotatoes ( yumm) 3 different kind of burger sliders ( I like the bacon chedder ones) and this HUGE 60 oz drink that WAS QUITE ALOT OF FUN! When they brought it out for my boss with 4 straws in this huge fish bowl glass all of us broke out laughing. Needless to say we had a great time, they have a great atmosphere and it is fantastic for large groups or if there ar eonly two of you they have a fantastic people watching open window patio. Go in and check out there new happy our menu and ask the owner why fied pickles... he will be the first to tell you they are soo good they are bad :)
