In Short – The basic tan brick walls on either side of the bar contrast tastefully with the bar's high-end fixtures and low ambient lighting. Scenesters, minglers and cocktail drinkers navigate around the showpiece oval-shaped bar in the center of the room, sampling martinis and other mixed concoctions. Tall tables and stools along the walls provide a perch for dining. The kitchen serves up sharing plates, fresh salads and thin crust pizzas. –

definitely got a feel good feeling

Love the open airiness of this place and the food was excellent. We could have had several plates of the Kobe steak sliders and I had a very tasty salad as well. The service was fine, just couldn't always find our waitress. Love the surprise projection screens for watching the games. Great experience in a great town! Can't wait to visit Austin again.

Decent bar

This bar is a decent place to hang out. The decor and atmosphere are very nice and relaxing. It seems to attract a good crowd as well. We had a pizza here, and it actually pretty good. However, I ordered a few Jack and Cokes, which seemed to be light on the Jack, and VERY overpriced!

you should go here. it won't be regretted. the owners are great people who love the industry and that love comes out in the layout of their bar. i've been quite a few times, stayed much longer than i had planned and had a terrific time every time. the food is delicious (especially the pizzas) and the bartendars are helpful and super cool. the layout of the bar lets you people watch and the patio is nice and chill. go to j. black's and enjoy yourself. it's pretty much guaranteed.
