Editorial Review for Birds Barbershop on Burnet – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
The hokey pokey is the only thing missing at this hair salon Xanadu, which takes its cue from early 80s roller disco and video arcades. The large, overhead murals feature icons of the era, ranging from skaters and break-dancers to "Spaced Invaders" and "Tron." Rock and alternative music sets the mood as stylists give cuts, colors and occasional Mohawks to cool professionals, rockers and kids. "No appointments" means you can play classic video games while you wait.

The most important aspect to getting a haircut is finding a person who can handle your hair gently and yet give you the style and treatment that you want. Thats exactly what I got here! Vanessa was so gentle with my hair and she gave me the style that I was looking for. She didnt try to sell me products and yet gave me useful tips and suggestions and to how to make my hair better. Will definitely go there again! =) ooo yeah and liked the funky interior!

Pros: Nice ambience and nice people

Cons: Cant think of any at the moment!

All I can say is... My Pomp. brings all the girls to the yard hehe but seriously good people. The pompadour specialist was awesome! Not only did she do a great job (her name is Sarah) she happily hooked me up with a beer and made sure that I was happy with my service before leaving.... Service so damn good I may go back sooner then later

Pros: pretty ladies making pretty hair

Cons: experience ended too quickly.. like the first time you have... eh you get the idea
