30.517088 -97.676875HORRIBLE - Texas Custom Decks - Grand Outdoor Designs. Only as good as the subs he can keep working for him. Most can't stand him. The owner Bill Holmes is charming at first but honestly knows very little about the business. He will agree to anything and say it can be done, but he does not have the expertise. He relies on subs, some fantastic, some not. The good ones do not stay. He owes money all over town and they WILL come knocking on your door. He is also doing business as Grand Outdoor Designs, beware.
Does not pay their bills. My business did almost $6000 worth of work for these people and when it came time to pay their bills they disappeared. I had to get a judgement against them and still they don't pay. For more information see .texascustomdecks(dot)info
So many promises. Incomplete delivery.. Texas Custom Decks' presentation is wonderful. Careful planning, we'll be there to supervise every step of the way, etc. The overall part of the major work we had done came out just fine. However, we paid very well for it. In the meantime, we had postholes dug in our yard and cement poured that was never even on the original plans. Texas Custom Decks seemed less than concerned about this. I had to question and fuss a number of times before this particular work was stopped and then fixed. Broken sprinkler heads? First they tried to claim that they had not broken the sprinkler system. It took a number of requests to get someone to even come out an examine the problem(s). Yes, they finally fixed the sprinkler system. After I fussed for about two weeks and then refused to hand over final payment until the problem was resolved. Was the overall, finished structure quite acceptable? Yes. Did we get the level of service and quality that we were promised (over and over) and that we paid for? No. When the owner/project supervisor promises me that he will be by every day to check on our project and then barely shows up because they are "just too busy," well, I'm not a mushroom.
Unfortunately this was a situation where it was impossible to please the client. We placed the post where the design indicated. She didn't like the location so we dug it up and redesigned the structure. In the process we created a tiny crack in the irrigation pipe. The crack was not noticeable and became apparent a few days later when the soil was moist. We repaired the leak the same day she advised our office.
I personally visited the job site every day and made adjustments to the original agreement at no cost to the homeowner.
I received my final payment only after I requested a meeting with her husband and her. The balance was paid at that meeting as it was agreed we met and exceeded all aspects of our agreement and the project was beautiful.
