I have been wanting to go to Sovino for a long time after reading the great write-ups it has had in the press, and I was not disappointed. I went lastnight with a friend and we had the most wonderful evening. From the moment you enter this beautiful place, you are made to feel so welcome by the owners and staff. The design of Sovino is stylish, warm and modern, with its mix of soft lighting, contemporary artwork on the walls and cosy seats to relax in (if you are lucky enough to get seating at the back of the restaurant). We both shared bruschetta to start with and then had mussels and short ribs for mains. Wow, the mussels were great, but the short ribs were just out of this world. We washed the meal down with a great Chilean red and all for such a reasonable price. Sovino is the only place in Houston I have been to which seems to have cracked the balance between offering both a dining and drinking experience, being both a destination bar and great restaurant. I can’t wait to return this weekend with a group of friends to try out more of the wine list and attempt to roast some marshmallows!

This is my favorite restaurant in Houston! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the food and the staff. I have eaten almost everything on the entire menu, and I haven't found one thing I didn't like. My absolute favorite dish is the Shrimp and Grits plate. As for the dessert... the brownie is TO DIE FOR! You MUST try this restaurant!!!! You won't regret it!
