Bread BarGood Pizza!. Call it a flatbread if you want- but it is a pizza- and it is good. The atmosphere is a little on the feminine side for my taste, but the food is good, and the beer is cold. That's all I need. This neighborhood is in dire need of some good hangouts and I really dig the patio here. If I could get it delivered I would never have to call Dominoes again. What is up with the phones, though- tried to call and got disconnected twice?!?!
Great dinner in Bee Caves!. Went to Bread Bar since we needed an alternative to the Bee Caves Bistro- was very pleased. Wines were very inexpensive for the brand- I had a Sterling Cab for @ $5- Flatbread (which looked like a rectangular pizza) was really good- Not your typical ingredients. Mine had feta cheese, spinach, chicken, and tomatoes. Wife's had hummus, and goat cheese and some other ingredients. Very nice decor, great music. We met the new managers- they are locals and very nice. Will be back soon.
Worst sandwich we've ever eaten.. Although the postcard we received promised "delicious homemade bread," my husband and I found the bread to be stale, extremely dry, and tasteless. Hubby's meat was old and left a lingering bad taste in his mouth. The pine nuts I put on my sandwich had a very old, rank taste. My sandwich was so bad, I choked and coughed repeatedly. After I saw a neighbor, she said, "I'm so sorry you didn't talk to me first. That place has the worst food I've ever eaten." The interior is lovely and the concept of building your own sandwich from numerous ingredients sounds good in theory, but the food does not match the decor nor is it fun to spend $8.95 for a sandwich that tastes bad!
Probably all accurate commentary- the previous management sent out coupons late last year and did not operate a very successful restaurant. About three weeks ago, I took over this restaurant. Food quality, menu choices, atmosphere, wine selection- all of these have been ammended and drastically improved. We are working very hard to overcome the incompetency of the previous management team and high school sandwich shop employees. Ask for Jeff if you go- this is not the same Bread Bar! Lakewaymom- please give me a call to talk about your experience- I would like to buy you some lunch and show you how far this restaurant has come!
