Fabulous. The best location in town and built to condo spec's, thick concrete walls and flooring, very quite. State of the art fitness center and saline pool. Walk across the foot bridge to Towne Lake or across the street to Whole Foods! Stainless appliances and granite, wonderful management.

Love the 24/7 concierge and guest parking for my friends, no one else has that feature.

Great Location - Overpriced - Outdated Amenities. The Monarch has a great location and for that, they think they can charge as much as much nicer places with better amenities. I would suggest looking at other places as you will get more for the same cost.

Pros -

*Good location - across the street from Whole Foods and the walking trail

*Great city view

*Pool room is nice

Cons -

*Vertical blinds - this was popular in the 80s. Other places are doing blackout blinds

*No Washer and Dryer - again, other places include this

*Rugs - Look like they came out of the 70s

*Cabinet and Paint on the wall - seem out of date also

*There were stains on the carpet in the hallway

*Parking garage is separate from the building

*Pool is useless - have a a friend live next door and he said he has never seen anybody at the pool in the 3 yrs he's been there

*No network connections in the rooms - other places have this

*Layout of apts is weird. You'll have trouble figuring out how to layout your space when there is at least 1 wall that isn't angled right

Make sure to look at the apartment before actually putting any money down to hold it, as Monarch does not refund any money.

Not Recommended. We've been living here for 4 months and feel like we are wasting our money. The rent is very high for virtually no amenities and very poor service. The management has been slow to respond to any of our maintenance requests. We were told that we would have adequate visitor parking, but as it turns out, there is NO visitor parking at all. Our HVAC bill is REALLY high every month. Apparently, we are paying to heat and cool the empty units and common areas in the building. So much for conservation. Additionally, the pool has been closed twice now for not complying with health and safety standards. Glad I never swam in it!

Luxury high-rise apartments offer dwellers and guests a view of Downtown and West Austin from their monolithic perch in the Market District.. In Short
Adjacent to Shoal Creek and the downtown trails, the Monarch houses 305 apartments ranging from 681 to 3,530 square feet. The 29-story building takes its name from its inverse roof, with eaves that sit raised on both sides, reminiscent of a butterfly poised to launch. While the massive structure remains grounded, its well-to-do renters flit about enjoying airy amenities such as a saltwater pool, 24-hour fitness center and a wireless Internet café.
