A Treehouse for Adults!.
My favorite way to describe the Kimber Modern is as a "treehouse for adults". Everything about this place is fantastic. The ample but stylized outdoor space, the cozy but sleek bedrooms, the awesome kitchen (always stocked with goodies, and the coffee machine I fell in love with)!
And lets not forget the staff - gracious, fun, and helpful.
I intend to return with even more friends - ideally, we'll be renting the entire place!
Great hotel BUT... It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at goo.gl/FPxYD They have some of the best hotel deals on the web!
Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Austin!!. My boyfriend and I were looking for a warm getaway from snowy New England, and we found Kimber Modern through Travel & Leisure. It did not disappoint. We absolutely loved it. We stayed in the White Suite, which featured a gorgeous, tiled bathroom with tub big enough for two and a private outdoor patio shaded by an old, sprawling tree. The common areas are comfortable and beautifully designed. We enjoyed breakfast, happy hour and the delicious coffee that's available 24/7. The staff is friendly and helpful; we appreciated the fantastic restaurant recommendations. The hotel is also perfectly located in the center of the hip So Congress neighborhood, but sufficiently off the beaten path. Kimber Modern is now our Austin hotel.
Its like having your own super modern home in Austin!.
My girlfriend and I couldn't have been happier with our experience at the Kimber Modern - from the amazing courtesy and service we received Sara, the hotel manager, to the prime location on south congress, to the wonderful time we had talking with Kimber, to the layout and amenities of the hotel, every detail is well thought out...the silent central air in each room, the keyless entry, and the sustainable fresh local fare for the included breakfast, were particularly nice touches! We couldn't have been happier and are looking forward to staying there again when we are in Austin! Thanks so much Kimber and Sara!

Hotel Sublime. beautiful rooms. Sleek but so comfortable. all rooms have a mini fridge. if you forget your toiletries no worries - they have everything right down to toothpaste/brush. A community room has a full kitchen where you can cook an entire meal, heat something in the microwave, get on a mac computer and print stuff out, have a free breakfast in the a.m. or free wine and beer in the afternoon. the outdoor area has comfortable couches and chairs, and hammocks, shaded by beautiful trees. The staff is there if you need them for anything but they don't bug you. I LOVE this place and i have stayed in all kinds of hotels all over the world.
Fantastic! An oasis in the middle of a chaotic fun city. I literally travel around the world and this is my new favorite place to stay. It's small, homey, friendly, beautiful rooms, great location, a wonderful oasis in the middle of chaotic fun of the city.
I live in Austin and instead of traveling out of town for a getaway weekend, I took my wife to KimberModern in downtown Austin. What a great decision - it was the best of all worlds: modern, comfortable, cozy, quite, beautiful, incredible location, etc, etc, etc!!!!! The bathroom in the suite is simply stunning!
A special thanks to Kimber for having the vision for this property, the great taste to appoint the property with the best of the best in modern appointments, and for making a romantic getaway weekend here in Austin the best it could have possibly been anywhere.
An urban oasis. For someone who travels all the time, this place was a true find. The open spaces, the unique design, the comfort. I loved this place.
Boutique among warehouses.
This place is the bomb! Finally someone gets it right! Perfect design -- subtle, restful, pleasing, comfortable -- comfort everywhere! The chairs, the bed, the shower, the hammock.. peaceful.
The staff -- cordial and cool.
The no key facility -- so friggin' easy to deal with.
The location -- one block from SoCo and TOTALLY QUIET. Can't get better than that. You're in the thick of it and yet you walk through the door to the KM and you are back to your peaceful haven.
It is the perfect, perfect place for a small group of travelers to stay together or for the individual who doesn't want to get lost in a huge hotel. It's personable and plush.
It deserves six stars!
Modern Coziness in the Heart of SoCo. We walked up the steps and entered the Kimber Modern courtyard, and we were instantly met with an incredibly peaceful vibe. The multi-level modern architecture and triangular layout seemed to organically grow directly out of the lovely Live Oak trees that cover the property. It was obvious from this first impression that this was a place where details mattered. Everything at that moment, and throughout our stay, just felt considered. We entered our room, the Blue Room, and were equally impressed. Crisp, clean, perfect bed. Large, luxurious shower with large bottles of organic shampoos and soaps. We were only staying a night, but could have easily spent the week. We unpacked and relaxed. Took a walk and grabbed some antipasto from an Italian restaurant/deli and brought it back to the room to enjoy with a glass of wine. We hung out in the common area around sunset. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a great view of the property and it was very relaxing to watch the light slowly fade to dusk as we lounged in the comfy modern chairs. That night we walked what seemed to be about 10 feet to a nearby restaurant and had a lovely dinner. Who knew you could feel so secluded and away from it all, within a block of Austin?s most popular restaurants and stores? Later, back in our room, we cracked open the large windows and fell asleep to the sweet sound of a singer songwriter across the way. In the morning, we planned on walking for coffee but thought we would check the common area before we left. A woman that works the place encouraged us to try the complimentary espresso machine they have there. It is such a good latte, ?Just push the button,? she kept saying. We did push the button, and wow, she was right. So there we were, in the common area again. Enjoying incredible lattes and mini fresh quiches. This time watching the sun return to the courtyard. Observing the world from our treetop view. We could definitely get used to this.
