My favorite new spot to dine. I first discovered the magic of Pho 9 years ago while living on UT campus. Now I am hooked. Ive tried nearly every south Austin restaurant in existence. I recently moved up north after many years of living down south and have been looking for a great Vietnamese spot. This place won me over. The owners are super friendly and their food is superb. The prices are super low. This place is a hidden mom and pop gem. I almost didnt write this review because I selfishly wanted to keep the wonderful eats for myself but i figure a secret as good as this will not last too long.
Family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in the ethnically diverse block of North Lamar provides for inexpensive and authentic meals..
In Short
Run by an efficient and friendly mother-daughter team, this casual Vietnamese café provides for speedy lunches at dirt cheap prices. Expect familiar menu items like spring roll appetizers in shrimp and a tasty grilled pork sausage variety. Plenty of big bowl soups are on the menu including pho with varied meats, fried rice dishes, and vermicelli bowls piled high with noodles, fresh vegetables and your choice of meats. The banh mi sandwiches come in two sizes (both are way less than $5), filled with pickled vegetables, grilled pork, shrimp, meatballs or pate.
