Charlotte is the best!.
Charlotte was my doula for my home birth. She was amazing! Her presense was so calming and soothing. I remember at one point, I didn't care if my husband left the room or not, but I just needed Charlotte there with me. She not only helped me, she helped my husband with suggestions on ways to help me and even a neck massage. I had a very long labor/birth (24 hours), she even stayed and made sure we had breakfast before she left. I just can't say enough about her, I am so blessed to have had her at my birth.
She also gave me prenatal massages during my pregnancy to help with my aching back and hips. They were so great! She was such a blessing. A true angel. If I am blessed with another child, I will definately ask Charlotte to be there.
Thanks for your posting! It's always great to do a home birth because of the more organic nature of supporting in a comfortable environment for the birthing couple. Also, when a mom can get support from another friend or her midwife, it allows me to step out to nurture the birthing father with a little attention and a neck rub! And yes, I do make breakfast tacos or whatever meal is appropraite to the time and desires of the couple, it helps reboot the energy level expended over the last few hours.
I loved her massage so much I moved her in!!.
As a Chiropractor I am particular on who I let do body work on me a second time, as I'm always up for trying a new technique, and I highly recommend Charlotte's massage! Being in a physical job myself combined with the physical athletic training I have done, Charlotte has put me back together more than once!!
She is calming, relaxing, gentle, effective, and very intuitive with her touch. I've known her a few years. I started out as a client and am now fortunate enough to practice in the same space with her. I feel extremely confidant referring my patients with muscular skeletal pain, headaches, post trauma injuries and lymphatic system congestion to her. Her energy is angelic to be in and you'll feel great for days after your session.
I've also had the pleasure to work with her in a home birth and witness just how amazing and knowledgeable she is while working with the delivering mother to be.
Highly Recommend her massage as well as birthing services.
We're a great team together and I look forward to serving our mutual clients. Thanks for your insight, sometimes it takes someone else to illuminate for me all the different kinds or therapies I do as well as how I serve the prospective mothers from pregnancy through childbirth and early parenting.
Relaxing Massage. I love massages with Charlotte! She has such a relaxing, calm manner. She's very compassionate and ensures that her clients get what they want from the massage. I always leave feeling so peaceful--it's a wonderful experience!
I do take care to listen to what my clients are needing before beginning a session, sometimes it's relaxation, other times there's and emotional issue going on that needs to unravel, or calming the mind. And of course, there are many achy muscles that need support as well!
Most supportive and intuitive healer. I've been working with Charlotte on some old emotional issues for well over a year now and she is truly incredible. She uses a variety of techiniques with me including massage, breathwork, Sound Wave Energy, Back Flower Remedies, as well as what I would call energy balancing, With her help I have been able to move past issues that I have been working on in one way or the other for years. I don't know what I'd do without her!
It truly takes someone who is willing to "go there" in her personal healing to work with the full scope of the techniques I have to offer. Many of my skills come from the Surya program and over the years with personal exploration I have added other modalities that I know personally have worked for me. Thanks for your openess to heal and grow and live life!
The absolute best you can do for yourself during pregnancy.
I met Charlotte in 2005 at an infant massage class she offered at Babies'r'us and instantly decided to have her as my doula. At that time i was pregnant with my first baby - two deliveries later (i have a 3 year old and a 3 months old now) - i still think it was a blessing to meet her that day!!!
She was at my both deliveries and made them a wonderful experience that i would want to repeat as long as i have her with me ;-) She did use completely different techniques those two times: what worked the first time had no affect the second, she gave us confidence and strength and later knowledge to succeed during a premature first and pretty complicated second deliveries, not using epidural or any other medication both times, as well as recover gracefully - i will be thankfull for the rest of my life and tell my daughters about her!
Don't even think twice about hiring her - i promise you won't regret.
I was blessed to be at two births with Maria, and as she says, births are all so different, just like snowflakes. A variety of skills are needed to address whatever arises for the mother in that moment or labor; when one technique works, you use it until she needs a change; when it doesn't work, you pull another modality out of the "skills bag". It is always interesting to me to see how a woman evolves in birth and over time and am grateful that Maria chose me twice to assist her.
Amazing experience. Charlotte is just incredible! I cannot imagine going through my son's birth without her. He is my first child and I had no idea how hard it could be. My whole family STILL says to this day, "What would we have done without Charlotte?". She really made my whole experience peaceful. I felt completely comfortable with her as did my husband. The most amazing thing about her, I think, is that she really took into account our beliefs, both me and my husbands. She kept us both as calm as possible and even my husband comments on how much she helped him with this scary new experience. Thanks to her I was able to really enjoy my son's birth and I will always remember it as the happiest day of my life. I love Charlotte and I think EVERYONE should have her with them for the birth of their children. She makes it a truly remarkable and wonderful experience.
It's always a blessing to be at a birth, whether it's the first or a next baby. I'm so glad that I was present at your birth and that both you and your husband felt supported.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Ayurdoula offers mothers to be in the Austin area a full range of services including prenatal massages as well as infant massage classes.
Charlotte's doula services rock. I loved, loved, loved having Charlotte for my doula. I would use her again and recommend her to anyone that needs a doula. Do not hesitate to utilize Charlotte as a doula or massage therapists because of cost or any other reason that one may think of- it is well worth every penny and the piece of mind that she gave me was invaluable. I learned infant massage, breathing techniques and had a most wonderful birthing experience because of Charlotte. She was my advocate with the nurses and Doctors when I was in the midst of labor pain.Thank you Charlotte! My daughter is almost 4 years old and as sassy as can be.
Thanks you for illuminating for any other moms considering my services some of the things that I offer to a mom in her childbearing year. Every birth is different as a snowflake. Fortunately, I have a large repetoire of techniques and skills to draw from so each mom gets what she needs to make her birth unique and special. And it is a blessing to be at subsequent births with the same mom, I'm happy you would consider it,
My Saving Grace. I do not even want to begin to imagine what my son's birth would have been like without Charlotte there. It was my Mom that wanted me to have a doula present, and thank goodness. They say to expect the unexpected when giving birth, but I just wanted to have a drug-induced labor followed by an epidural. No big deal, right? Wrong. Two epidurals later, I found myself giving birth the old fashioned way. I'm not quite sure why the epidurals did not work but Charlotte was there coaching me through the whole thing. I took the birth classes that teach you how to breathe, but when it came time my mind went blank. Charlotte helped the early labor with pressure point pain relief, then massage when my muscles were tense, breathing through transition, and finally counting through pushing. I think my husband even got a massage out of it. What an easy day he had! I feel like Charlotte did so much more than I can sum up in this space. I highly recommend her for any mother to be. Thanks again Charlotte!
I'll never forget your birth and hope that any future ones are much easier on you. I'd always heard the stories that sometimes epidurals just don't work, but your birth gave me the opportunity to help a laboring mom through that. Yes, you're right, it was the old fashioned way, and I hope you now know just how strong you really are!
