Austin >Hey Cupcake!
I love Hey Cupcake however, they are very top heavy (e.g. short bottom, large top with a thick coat of frosting). If they ever decide to make their cupcakes proportionate I'll eat there 24/7.
Credit Card Fraud. I took my two nephews to the Burnet location on 6/20 and was later shocked to see on my credit card statement that a staffer had added for herself a $2 tip without my authorization. I will never return the hey cupcake, and I will always repeat my experience when someone mentions anything about cupcakes.
OMG!!!. I love these guys! My whole family and friends love their variety of cupcakes! They melt in your mouth and leave you not wanting to share. I fell in love with the standard. My 7yr. old loves the Michael Jackson (rip). Guys, just try it. You'll be hooked! :~)
Second location of the tasty cupcake purveyor gives up the Airstream for an Allandale storefront..
The neapolitan and chrome-decked building is the first clue, but it's the giant pink cupcake on the roof that heralds the Hey Cupcake! storefront on Burnet. The décor stays true to the bakery's SoCo roots with a counter styled after an Airstream and a TV that loops roadtrip footage so customers feel like they're on the move. The menu will seem familiar also with vanilla, chocolat and vanilla, chocolate, red velvet and carrot cupcakes. There are only a couple of tables inside, so head out back where there's plenty of seating with umbrellas plus a stage area and (surprise, surprise) an Airstream trailer.
