The woman responsible for transforming South Congress Avenue into a hip hot spot with her inductions of Hotel San Jose and Jo's Hot Coffee, has taken over the historic Miller Crockett House Bed and Breakfast in the same 'hood. Liz Lambert's Hotel Saint Cecelia, named after the patron saint of music, is described as a luxurious and serene retreat with elegant opulence. Just 14 rooms situated on one acre, the Hotel is made up of modern bungalows and a historic Victorian mansion.

No corners were cut as the Hotel provides only the best in features as well as in service. The beds are by Hastens, award winning and hand made. The sound systems are by Geneva and the mini bars are Magic Chef wine refrigerators.

Don't look for a flashy neon vacancy sign as the Hotel is a retreat meant to be stumbled upon. A haven for musicians, poets and artists, its environment supports creativity and exclusivity. Lounge by the 50 foot Hollywood-style pool or under an oak in a grassy area in an English garden setting. A lounge provides a vintage vinyl library, music DVDs and a poetry collection. Evening cocktails are served as well as a European continental breakfast of crepes made to order, exclusive to Hotel guests. Lambert seems to have the Midas touch, she builds it and they will come!

Each room is equipped with luxurious soft goods, including one-of-a-kind handmade Hastens beds; a Geneva sound system, flatscreen TV, turntable and iPod connections; a mini bar stocked with local food finds; unique, custom art pieces and maid service twice daily. The house library eschews dog-eared airport reads for a well-chosen selection of books about inspirational poets, writers and musicians. The hotel also has a 50-foot outdoor pool and beautifully landscaped grounds.
