Tips for Elite Land Construction

I would stay away. The owner is a salesman, follow-through is terrible, work is shoddy...

Agreed: Very Bad Choice. I would stay far away from this guy (Dean Lackey). He made an appt to meet me at my rental property to do some sprinkler adjustments. I drove all the way to the property, waiting 15 minutes past our appt time and called him. He obviously didn't remember making our appt and said he would leave the house and be on his way. He called 30 minutes later and said his truck broke down (yeah right) and couldn't meet me that day. He said he could meet me the next day. Well, guess what, he didn't show AGAIN. Not sure how he's still in business. I would look elsewhere.

Bad Choice. Irrigation works but needs adjustments; will not return calls to finish what he promised and to see what a poor job the fence has turned out to be.

His inexperienced worker put in fence that is damaged by poor welding, gates don't close because the posts were barely cemented in place and have to be redone. They pulled up my security sign to use to mix the cement! The finials on the fence are still missing even though he agreed to provide them. All the bushes dug up along porch line died because root balls were exposed to sun for too long and preparing the irrigation system. The rock border along the walkway is short of completion and one section was done inadequately where I asked for the full border agreed to. The border has a nice appearance but not sure how long it will stay in place. The cemented- in sidewalk stones has all the cement coming out between them. The stones were not replaced as promised with level stones. This guy (Dean Lackey) was yelling at me on the day before they were to finish on my porch to give them payment for the job. He wanted to pay his workers; I understand needing to pay workers but it is his job to have enough in the bank to pay his workers. I should have gone in the house and called the police. I stupidly paid him. I would steer clear of this guy.

Even though he was recommended by a friend; he was in too much of a hurry to get in and get out and more concerned with his plan to retire early and ride his motorcyle. He told me his main focus is commercial work; can't see any company putting up with this lack of attention and quality of work.
