Don't do it!
by peanutsgirl713 at Citysearch
OK, so I can say on a positive note, the guys were very friendly and worked hard while they were moving my things. HOWEVER, and this is a BIG however, they were over an hour late and took a 3 hour lunch. I was moving only 45 minutes away and we left my old house around 1. They didn't show until almost 4pm, which means we weren't through until around 7pm. This move should have been completed in 4 hours. On top of everything else, the quote I received was very low to what the final cost was - the amount doubled by the end of the day. Imagine my shock! Will NEVER use them again....
Dependable Service, Reasonable Prices

I recently worked with Chaparral Moving on a project for one of my clients. Ron and his team were responsive, reasonably priced and a pleasure to work with. I'd use them again in a heartbeat and certainly recommend them to my friends and clients.
- Pros: Dependable, Service-Oriented
- Cons: None
Big Move - Quality Dependable Service
by Beth Abel at Citysearch
We moved from the Brenham area to Austin and were able to relax into their reliable service because they took the time to clearly explain the plan and the costs. We found this mover to be half the cost of the other bids we got.
- Pros: easy to communicate and plan with
Unreliable, avoid at all costs!

I recently had a move scheduled with Chaparral Moving and Storage. They cancelled my first appointment at the last minute due to the possibility of rain in the forecast. My wife and I had already taken the day off work to make the move. They rescheduled me for Saturday morning. I called multiple times and when they were over 45 minutes late, they finally called and said they had double booked another move and would have to bump me to the evening. I waisted 2 hours sitting in my old house that could have been spent unpacking things I already moved myself. I went back for my 4:00 appointment and again they failed to show up! I had to book with another moving company for the following morning. This made me overstay my lease, miss a day of work, and lose most of the weekend I had set aside for moving and unpacking. They had no explanations, excuses or apologies. Don't ever book with Chaparral if you expect to move at any certain time or date. I can't believe they have even a few positive reviews.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Double book appointments and fail to show up on moving day
Beware!
by AusRin at Citysearch
Beware this company does not use box trucks for moving. They don't even own trucks. What they use are pickup truck and trailers. Many drawbacks to that, including limited access and the vibration of trailers is very hard on your furniture and appliances. They don't tell you this up front, and so when they show up and they can't get the trailer into your driveway, your move does not happen!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Many
