Editorial Review for Missouri Botanical Garden – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
In the spring, tulips bring to mind a Dutch landscape. Step inside the Climatron and enter a South American jungle (extreme humidity included). Spring and summer bring lots of weddings. Reach a Zen-like state at Seiwa-en, the largest Japanese garden in the Western Hemisphere. In the Weeping Cherry garden, shapes raked in the gravel represent nature's water-and-land relationships. In the spirit of Shinto, imagine that every flower and tree embodies a personality from another lifetime.

The Botanical Gardens aren't free. There is a small fee to pay at the entrance, unless you're a member. It's a beautiful place in the springtime and at Christmastime.

Pros: parking, variety, history

Cons: cost, concessions=commercia
