Best BBQ in Texas. The brisket and ribs were the best I've ever had and the sauce is unique and delicious. The BYOB family style atmosphere made it a memorable experience for me and my family. We were there on a weekend evening and there was a long wait, but there was live music as entertainment and the wait staff gave out some samples so we didn't really mind the wait. Best BBQ i've ever had; great atmosphere. Honestly, I've had a lot of good bbq and Salt Lick is by far the best. The sauce is amazing and every one of the meats is cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is very cool since it is BYOB and they cook all the meat on a huge open flame BBQ pit which you won't find really anywhere else. If you visit Austin and don't go to the Salt Lick, then you haven't really visited Austin. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in Austin.…
didn't like the RoundRock one at all. i thought the brisket was incredibly chewy and tough...went there twice. Hated the BBQ sauce... sweet honey/mustardy. Yuck. hated it.
